      Andiamo a Bruxelles, al parlamento europeo
      si potrebbe parlare di  un"successo" per il nostro lavoro
      ma porto dentro di me
      le voci di chi vive la paura, di chi non sa se domani vivrà
      di chi ha perso familiari in situazioni disperate
      di chi,  arrivato qua, vive in Europa in grande solitudine
      di chi proprio in questo momento viaggia su una barca sgangherata
      in mezzo al mare, senza speranza di arrivare...
      Saremo capaci di far arrivare questi voci anche a chi non vorebbe
ascoltare???

      We are on our way to Brussels, to the European Parliament
      we could say: "a success" for our work
      but inside of me I hear
      the voices of the ones that live fear, the ones that don't know if
tomorrow they will live
      the ones that lost their family in desperate situations
      the ones that made it to arrive in Europe living in great solitude
      the ones that exactly in this moment travel on ruined boats
      in the middle of the sea, without hope to arrive...
      Will we able to reach who is has no interest to listen???

      Nuove strade per rifugiati,

      Progetto ideato e proposto da Annet Henneman, Teatro di Nascosto.



      Sono dieci anni che il Teatro di Nascosto racconta storie basate su
viaggi fatti in Iran, nel Kurdistan iracheno, turco e iraniano, a
Calcutta e in altri villaggi poveri del Bengal in India. Nella forma del
teatro reportage, storie di persone e popoli senza voce.



      “Rifugia-ti” - Teatro reportage

      Bruxelles  6 giugno 2007, Parlamento  Europeo,



      Uno sviluppo particolare del Teatro di Nascosto è l’incontro e la
collaborazione con parlamentari italiani ed europei che hanno accettato
di mettersi in gioco, di farsi attori, di prestare la loro immagine e
voce a quei tanti rifugiati che ci hanno affidato le loro testimonianze,
i loro messaggi di lotta e di riscatto, le loro aspirazioni e i loro
pensieri più profondi, intimi, alla ricerca di un’esistenza libera,
dignitosa  e normale. Dopo le tre repliche italiane (Volterra, Roma e
Milano), il prossimo 6 giugno – in versione inglese – “Rifugia-ti” andrà
in scena al Parlamento Europeo a Bruxelles nella sala Jehudi Menuhin.



      Attori professionisti, rifugiati e parlamentari raccontano i viaggi
disperati, la guerra e l’oppressione, la fuga e l’arrivo in Europa,
l’incontro con la commissione che decide sul futuro di chi chiede asilo
politico.

      Dodici parlamentari italiani e del parlamento europeo, tra i quali
il vice presidente del parlamento europeo Luisa Morgantini, Tana de
Zulueta, Giusto Catania, Vittorio Agnoletto, Thijs Berman, Uca Feleknes,
Linda Macavan, Claude Moraes, Elena Valenciana, Inés Ayala, Jamila
Madeira, Wolfgang Kreissl-Dorfler portano in scena una delle più
brucianti questioni dell’agenda politica internazionale.

      Gli attori e i rifugiati del Teatro di Nascosto (Hidden theatre),
insieme a Mehdi Zana del Nord Kurdistan raccontano la vita dei
rifugiati. Dall’inferno che lasciano, il loro viaggio rischioso, 
all'arrivo in un nuovo paese, in una nuova cultura, l'incontro con la
commissione che deciderà sul loro futuro, le esperienze all'interno dei
Centri di Permanenza Temporanea, le espulsioni … e tanto altro ancora.



      Lo spettacolo è l'espressione diretta di un modo nuovo di fare
teatro: i parlamentari e il pubblico hanno un contatto diretto con le
esperienze dei protagonisti, non ci sono mediazioni ne' filtri.
L'obiettivo e' di sensibilizzare gli spettatori, di trasmettergli
passioni e angosce, di raccontare con asprezza l’ingiustizia presente in
molti paesi del mondo.



      Questa esperienza ci ha portato a conoscere e ad interagire, ad
informare e dialogare apertamente con i nostri rappresentanti nelle
istituzioni nazionali ed europee, con coloro che possono o potrebbero
decidere su leggi, direttive e norme. Per questo il Teatro di Nascosto
sta organizzando un grande evento a Volterra:

      150  parlamentari nazionali ed europei redigono insieme un testo 
Un comitato di parlamentari e specialisti in materia di diritti
preparerà, prima dell’incontro, una prima stesura di direttive europee
per i rifugiati.

      L’obbiettivo è quello discutere, integrare e votare un testo
condiviso: “la Charta di Volterra”



      L’incontro volterrano si svolgerà in  un clima di continue
sollecitazioni e informazioni  di “vissuti sulla pelle”. Sono previsti:
rappresentazioni di teatro reportages, documentari, mostre fotografiche,
incontri con rifugiati, giornalisti, artisti ed organizzazioni impegnate
sul tema dei diritti umani.

      NEW ROADS FOR REFUGEES

      A project conceived and proposed by Annet Henneman, Teatro di
Nascosto (Italy).

      In the course of the past ten years the Teatro di Nascosto (“Hidden
Theatre”) has been telling stories based on its travels through Iran,
Iraqi, Turkish and Iranian Kurdistan, Calcutta and other poverty
stricken villages in India’s Bengal region. These stories have since
taken on a new form: reportage theatre. The stories of individuals and
peoples without a voice.



      “RIFUGIA-TI” – REPORTAGE THEATRE

      BRUSSELS, JUNE 6 2007, EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT



      A key development involving the Teatro di Nascosto has been meeting
and collaborating with members of the Italian and European Parliament,
individuals who have accepted to put themselves to the test and assume
an active role by lending their names and voices to the vast number of
refugees who have entrusted them with their testimonies, their accounts
of struggle and repossession, their aspirations and their deepest, most
intimate thoughts, in their quest for a free, dignified and normal
existence.

      Following representations in Volterra, Rome and Milan, “REFUGIA-TI”
will be staged in the Jehudi Menuhin Room at the European Parliament in
Brussels on June 6, 2007.



      Professional actors, refugees and parliament members recount the
tales of desperate journeys, of war and oppression, stories of flight
and arrival in Europe, of the encounter with commissions that decide the
future of those requesting political asylum.

      Twelve members of the Italian and European Parliament, among whom
Vice President of the European Parliament, Luisa Morgantini, Tana de
Zulueta, Giusto Catania, Vittorio Agnoletto, Thijs Berman, Uca Feleknes,
Linda Macavan, Claude Moraes, Elena Valenciana, Inés Ayala, Jamila
Madeira, Wolfgang Kreissl-Dorfler, bring to the stage one of the most
burning questions on the international political agenda.

      The actors and refugees of the Teatro di Nascosto, together with
Mehdi Zana, from Northern Kurdistan, recount the life of the refugees,
from the inferno they leave behind, along their perilous journeys, to
their arrival in a new country and culture, the encounter with the
commissions that decide their future, their experiences in the
quartering areas, the deportations, and much more.



      This performance is the direct expression of a new way of doing
theatre: members of Parliament and an audience establish direct,
unmitigated contact with the experiences of individuals directly
involved. The aim is to sensitize the spectator, to transmit these
stories of passion and anguish, bitterly recounting tales of injustice
rampant in so many countries of the world.



      This experience has led to greater familiarity and an increase in
interaction, in the form of exchange of information and dialogue, with
our representatives in national and European governments, those who make
decisions concerning laws and directives. It is with this in mind that
the Teatro di Nascosto is organizing a major event in the city of
Volterra.



      THE VOLTERRA CHARTER – LA CHARTA DI VOLTERRA

      New roads for refugees.

      VOLTERRA, November 9-11 2007



      A special committee of parliamentarians, together with specialists
in the field of human rights and refugees, will be appointed to draft
the Volterra Charter, a series of proposals for common European
directives concerning the fate of refugees. One hundred and fifty
parliamentarians from various European nations will then converge to
discuss, revise and vote on this collective document.



      The encounter in Volterra will evolve in a climate nourished by the
continuous appeals and information provided by those who have had
first-hand experience. The program includes: reportage theatre
performances, documentaries, photographic exhibits, meetings with
refugees, journalists, artists and organizations involved in the realm
of human rights.
