Dear all, Please circulate widely. Sorry for any cross posting. POSTGRADUATE COURSES IN PEACE STUDIES AT THE CENTRE FOR PEACE AND RECONCILIATION STUDIES, COVENTRY UNIVERSITY, UK The Centre for Peace and Reconciliation Studies at Coventry University is now inviting applications for the next academic year (2006/07). Coventry has gained a global reputation as a city dedicated to peace and reconciliation, and our Centre is one of the key institutions in the city working for peace. We are a centre of teaching, research and related activities focused on deepening understanding and promoting processes of peace-building and reconciliation at all levels, throughout the world. Our work is informed by the belief that in the struggle to achieve peace, the transformative power of nonviolence is central. We have a very dynamic and cosmopolitan environment with staff and students from many different countries, as can be seen on our website. We offer both theoretical and skills based courses and encourage our students to apply their knowledge in practice as peacemakers. Many students go on to meaningful employment in aid agencies, NGOs, and other organisations working for peace and reconciliation. Some students have also progressed to doctoral study. If you share this vision, then one of our teaching programmes could present you with the opportunity to deepen your understanding and obtain a postgraduate qualification. Our programmes include the following: 1. MA in Peace and Reconciliation Studies (full and part-time) This is a one-year full-time, or two-year part-time programme, however there is significant opportunity to shorten your period of residence in Coventry by studying some units online.
