US-UK-Italian Uranium Science Fraudulent: Patients Betrayed by Italian
Scientist
Bob Nichols, AxisofLogic.com
Nuclear Weapons Lab scientist Leuren Moret today accused three Western
governments of condoning and promoting science fraud relating to Radiation
Poisoning from the use of Uranium Weapons in Iraq and Central Asia by
Italian scientist Antonietta Morena Gatti (...) Moret consulted famed
former Manhattan Project scientist and consultant to the Lawrence Livermore
Nuclear Weapons Lab, Marion Fulk, befo! re making the announcement (...)
Moret continued "This dreadful woman [Gatti] has violated the trust of
Susan Riordan, dishonored the memory of Terry Riordan, and scammed all to
further her own ambitions. It is vital at this time for the Italian
government to cover up the harm of DU because there are sick Italian
soldiers who served in the Balkans and Iraq, and Italian soldiers are
shooting DU into the fisheries in coastal Sardinia where fisherman are
making a huge political stink"...

"Pleasure Marriage" in Iraq under the Occupation
Critical Montages
Shiite Islam appears to tacitly recognize that marriage and prostitution
exist on a continuum, giving religious sanction to an intermediate category
of "pleasure marriage" (also called "temporary marriage" and "fixed-term
marriage") (...) Pleasure marriages were outlawed under Saddam Hussein but
have begun to flourish again. The contracts, lasting anywhere from one hour
to 10 years, generally stipulate that the man will pay the woman in
exchange ! for sexual intimacy (...) The status of women in Iraq was the
highest in the 1970s: "In the 1960s and 1970s, for example, Iraq enacted
mandatory education for women and equal pay for equal work. And by the
1980s women constituted almost 40 percent of public sector workers" (...)
It's been downhill ever since, the resurgence of "pleasure marriage" being
just one indication of the decline in Iraqi women's economic power...

US Totalitarian Tendencies exposed
Tafataona P. Mahoso, www.globalresearch.ca
...Now that the US and its allies succeeded in subverting and causing the
collapse of the Soviet Union itself instead, they now boast of having
achieved what they once accused the Soviet Union of trying to achieve. And
it seems clear to historians of the Cold War that it was the US and its
allies who sought world domination after tasting it during the fight
against Hitler. A re-reading of the book called Totalitarian Dictatorship
and Au! tocracy by Carl Friedrich and Zbgniew Brzezinski is telling in this
regard. However, we start with recent stories in the Press which provide
immediate indicators of this historical reality...

Four bloody lies of war, from Havana 1898 to Baghdad 2003
Harvey Wasserman
The Bush Administration's lies about its rationales for attacking Iraq fit
a pattern of deceit that has dragged America into at least three other
unjust and catastrophic wars. The "smoking gun" documents that emerged in
the recent British election confirm the administration had decided to go to
war and then sought "intelligence" to sell it. But conscious, manipulative
lies were also at the root of American attacks on Cuba in 1898, US int!
ervention into World War I in 1917 and in Vietnam. These lies are as proven
and irrefutable as the unconscionable deception that dragged the US into
Iraq in 2003...

Proof We Were Lied into War.
Bush Must Be Impeached!!
Lonna Gooden VanHorn, Project for the Old American Century
I hope many of you will opt to send, fax or e-mail a version of this letter
to your newspapers and your congress people. While the American public was
immersed in the hysterical media coverage of the "Runaway Bride" last
weekend, an article came out in the "London Sunday Times" that was almost
totally ignored by the American media. A patriotic whistle blower in
England provided the Times with the! official minutes of a July 23, 2002,
briefing by Richard Dearlove, head of Britian's CIA equivalent, MI-6, to
Tony Blair and top national security agents which proves that President
Bush lied us into a war from which, unconscionably, we know his family and
Cheney's Halliburton are profiting financially...

CHEAP HEAT
Malcom Lagauche
...Recently, a Canadian author, Irshad Manji has gained notoriety, but it
is of the cheap heat kind. She wrote a book called The Trouble with Islam
Today and is currently touring the U.S. promoting the work (...) Manji did
not leave her criticism only to Muslims, but to Arabs as well (...) She
stated, "In the last hundred years alone, more Muslims have been tortured
or murdered at the hands of other Muslims than at the hands of any former
imperial power." Manji should go to the l! ibrary, or access the Internet
and read something about world history in the 20th century Arab world.
Maybe she would learn about the British occupation of Iraq; or about the
genocide of the Palestinians at the hands of Israel; or the three million
Iraqis killed by the U.S. from 1991 until today...

From Iran-Contra To Iraq
David Corn, The Nation
The George W. Bush presidency has been one long rehab session for the
Iran-contra scoundrels of the Reagan-Bush administration. Many infamous
veterans of the foreign policy connivance of the Reagan days have found a
home in Bush II. Elliott Abrams--who pleaded guilty to misleading Congress
regarding the Reagan administration's secret support of the contra rebels
fighting the Sandinista government of Nicaragua--was hired as a staffmember
of George W. Bush's National ! Security Council and placed in charge of
democracy promotion....

Call for a National Day of Action for GI Resisters on May 10, 2005
www.IraqTunnel.com
We urge you to join us in a "National Day of Action for GI Resisters" on
Tuesday May 10, 2005. This is the day before the US military is planning to
bring sailor Pablo Paredes and soldier Kevin Benderman before military
court martial tribunals for their opposition to the Iraq War. They face
forfeiture of pay and benefits, and military jail time. On December 6,
2004, Navy Petty Officer Pablo Paredes refused to board his ship as i! t
left the San Diego Naval Station in support of the Iraq War and occupation.
At the time of his refusal, Pablo said he hoped his protest might inspire
other GI's to refuse to take part in the war...

Veterans say war-related illnesses are overlooked
Sandra Mathers | Sentinel Staff Writer
Sgt. Georg-Andreas Pogany, an eight-year Army veteran, had been in Iraq
just three days during Operation Iraqi Freedom before his world -- and his
military career -- collapsed. He suffered a meltdown. But Pogany's 2003
"psychiatric breakdown," as he calls it, wasn't caused by injury or battle
stress. He says it was finally diagnosed as a severe reaction to an
anti-malaria inoculation given to him by his own government...

Reality check
Ed Naha
...As I write this, 1594 American troops have been killed in Iraq. 180
American troops have been slain in Afghanistan. Democracy is on the
march…or on the run, as it were. A little over a week ago, at a press
conference, George W. Bush stated that we're making "really good progress"
in Iraq. Two days before the press conference, General Richard Myers,
chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that the Iraqi insurgents were
as strong as ever. Since Bush's happy talk, 250 Iraqis have been ki! lled
via suicide bombings, assassinations and gunfire...

Iraqi Powers Link Dialogue to Pullout Timetable
Samir Haddad, IOL Correspondent
The second anti-occupation conference in Iraq rejected on Saturday, May 7,
any talks with the new government unless it clearly seeks a timetable for
the withdrawal of the US-led occupation forces. "We want an official and
clear timetable for the withdrawal guaranteed by the United Nations and
neutral international bodies," said Harith Al-Dari, the Secretary General
of the Association of Muslim Scholars (AMS) and a member of the confer!

Stop this bloody war
Pip Hinman , Green Left Weekly
...The Stop the War coalitions in Sydney and Melbourne shot the blame
straight to the federal government, arguing that its decision to join the
''coalition of the willing'' invasion meant it was complicit in the deaths
of some 100,000 Iraqis and more than 1500 coalition troops. "It's clear
that sending more troops and foreign contractors to a war zone is likely to
have them killed, taken hostage, or wounded", said Margarita Windisch from
the Melbourne Stop the W! ar Coalition...

Iraq cabinet approved; minister quits
Aljazeera.net
The Iraqi parliament has approved appointments for six cabinet vacancies,
handing four more positions to Sunni Arab minority. But the Sunni selected
as human rights minister turned down the job, saying he cannot accept a
position awarded on sectarian criteria. Less than half of the National
Assembly, 112 of the 155 legislators present, approved Prime Minister
Ibrahim al-Jaafari's six nominations on Sunday, including Shia Arab Ibrahim
Bahr al-Uloum as oil minis! ter and Sunni military man Saadoun al-Duleimi

Family of American beheaded in Iraq looks for answers, peace
MARYCLAIRE DALE, The Associated Press
Relatives of Nicholas Berg, the young American entrepreneur beheaded in
Iraq, have taken different paths as they've searched for solace in the year
since his death. Michael Berg, his father, has intensified his anti-war
activities and traveled the globe to meet the families of other civilians
kidnapped or slain in Iraq. His weekly peace vigil at a suburban
Philadelphia courthouse and frequent interviews contrast sh! arply with the
response of his wife, Suzanne, who has chosen to grieve privately since
Nick's body was found on a Baghdad street on May 8, 2004...

Criminals Belong in Prison
William Rivers Pitt, t r u t h o u t
... The document almost reads like satire. "Bush wanted to remove Saddam,"
reads the leaked secret British intelligence memo dated 23 July 2002,
"through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and
WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."
(...) The butcher's bill to date: 1,594 American soldiers dead, times ten
grievously wounded; over 100,000 Iraqi citizens dead, uncounted more
wounded, with a recen! t upsurge of violence claiming more than 200 lives
in the last week alone; a nine-figure pricetag that spirals ever-upwards by
the day, mortgaging our children's future for the profits of the few; no
weapons of mass destruction anywhere in Iraq. We need two exit strategies:
one to get our forces out of that country as soon as humanly possible, and
the other to get George W. Bush out of the White House and into a cellblock
in The Hague. Save a bunk for Mr. Blair, too. Criminals belong in prison...

AN ILLEGAL GOVERNMENT
What Really Happened
A recent poll discovered that half of Americans know that the government
intentionally lied about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. The actual
figure is probably a lot higher since there is a large percentage of
Americans still willing to let their neighbors' children die than ever
admit they were wrong to support the war in the first place. So, the
majority of Americans know the government lied to create a war.

"Pork-Laden" Iraq Bill
John Nichols, The Nation
Just when you thought it might be impossible for the Bush administration
and House Majority Leader Tom DeLay to stoop any lower, they have sunk to a
new depth. They are now, in the well-chosen words of one member of the U.S.
House, "using America's fighting men and women as human shields to pass
pork-laden legislation." The administration and its chief congressional
ally hijacked the resolution for supplemental funding of the U.S.
occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan! and added to the measure a laundry
list of giveaways to special interests and bad policies...

JAZEERA: The Horror Of Fallujah
Journalists Tell Of US Falluja Killings
jihadunspun.com
All is quiet in Falluja, or at least that is how it seems, given that the
mainstream media has largely forgotten about the Iraqi city. But
independent journalists are risking life and limb to bring out a very
different story. The picture they are painting is of US soldiers killing
whole families, including children, attacks on hospitals and doctors, the
use of napalm-like weapons and sections of the city destroyed...

Coffin Industry Booming in Iraq
IslamOnline.net
Against a backdrop of almost daily bombings, shuddering explosions and US
raids that claim the lives of innocent Iraqi civilians, the demand for
coffins is so high and undertakers are burying bodies at a huge profit.

positively on undertakers," Mohammad Sakran, who owns a tomb in east
Baghdad, told the London-based Al-Quds Press news agency...

Baghdad bomb kills Americans, Iraqis

witnesses said. Four Americans were among the 17 people killed in a huge
car bomb blast in central Baghdad on Saturday, security and medical sources

and four foreigners whose bodies were completely charred," the official
said on condition of anonym! ity. A medic, Khaled Ibrahim, said: "According

At least nine Iraqi journalists who worked for major Western news
organizations have disappeared into the network of concentration camps in

occupied country, the French news agency AFP reported May 5. An even larger
number of Iraqi reporters and other Arab journalists who do not have
