One of IAIA's South African members sent this review:

Porter and Fittipaldi's "Environmental Methods Review: Retooling
Impact
Assessment for the New Century" is a treasure trove of useful
information on
the current state of play in environmental assessment. Studies and
authors
have been drawn from Australia to Zimbabwe and many countries in
between. It
is the best value for money I have encountered in recent years. The
compendium has proved useful for graduate student teaching as well as
for
updating professional practice. Topics range from a perspective on
NEPA to
chapters on strategic impact assessment, cumulative effects
assessment, GIS
in impact assessment, social assessment, economic assessment,
ecological
assessment, health assessment, climate assessment and environmental
justice
assessment. Any environmental professionals passing up this offer need
to
subject themselves to mental assessment (one of the few forms of
assessment
not covered by this wide-ranging book).
