Dear friend of UFPJ:
The holidays are a time of hope and giving. This has been a difficult, and
at times very painful year. The horror of the war in Iraq, with its
senseless death and destruction, and the nightmare of the elections here at
home have been hard for many of us. But because we are in touch with
activist groups around the nation, United for Peace and Justice knows there
is tremendous potential for change.
This past year, hundreds of thousands of us took to the streets in every
corner of the country. We raised our voices for peace and justice, spoke
out against war and greed, and decried racial and economic injustice. We
approach the new year with a renewed commitment to continue these crucial
struggles, for the sake of our future and the future of generations to come.
Our coalition is strong and continues to grow, but we need your help and we
need it today. Please help make sure we have the resources we need to
continue working for a better world in the year to come. Mark the holiday
season with a generous gift to United for Peace and Justice.

United for Peace and Justice has accomplished a tremendous amount in just
two short years. We have built the largest, broadest, and most diverse
anti-war coalition this country has ever seen, with over 900 member groups
in more than 40 states. We have reinvigorated protest politics in the
United States, bringing hundreds of thousands of people into the streets on
five separate occasions. We have spurred hundreds upon hundreds of local
actions in communities all around the country, fostering a spirit of
grassroots engagement that is crucial to winning this country back.
It hasn't been enough to stop the Iraq war, bring the troops home, or
reverse this country's direction …yet. But this work has built the crucial
foundation for such a change of course.
To keep organizing in the months and years ahead, we need your financial
support more than ever. We need to expand our efforts, not retrench; to
deepen and broaden the movement for peace and justice.
So please, take whatever anger and frustration you might have and channel
it into action. Help us close out this year prepared to face the challenges
ahead. Dig deep into your pockets and make the most generous donation you
can today, to sustain our work for change.
