..."Guernica" is back. This time it is not about the Nazi Luftwaffe
dropping bombs on a village in Spain but about the USA dropping bombs and
massacring hundreds of civilians that include women and children in the
town of Fallujah, Iraq. As Franco in "Guernica", the USA military is
denying that it is targeting civilians, but censored reports are filtering
out of Iraq that say that over half of the Mosques in the city lie in ruins
and that US Marines a! re utilizing outlawed lethal gasses against the
city's defenders which are also causing massive casualties among the
civilians that remain in the city...

I have just witnessed a murder on my TV screen

As I sit here and write this I have tears streaming down my face, I am
shaking and my heart is pounding. I have just witnessed a murder on my TV
screen. While watching Lateline on Australian ABC television there was a
report from Fallujah. In the story they showed a marine saying, "I've just
injured one, he's between the two buildings". At that moment another marine
walks over to the gap between the two houses, he then climbs on a forty
four! gallon drum aims his gun at the injured Iraqi and fires one shot. The
marine then climbs back down saying, "He's done"...

...Iraqi Resistance forces on Wednesday expelled US aggressor forces and
imposed their control on several major cities in the country. In a dispatch
posted at 12:55am Thursday morning Baghdad time (11:55pm Wednesday, Mecca
time ). The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondents in Mosul, ar-Ramadi, al
Hadithah, Hit, 'Anah, and R! awah reported that those cities are in the
hands of the Iraqi Resistance after Resistance forces succeeded in forcing
occupation troops to flee from the urban areas to their bases outside the
cities where they are now hiding. The Resistance did not allow the
aggressor troops to relax in their hiding places, however. Not half an hour
goes by without at least three rockets or mortar rounds being fired into
those aggressor bases...

is that the "insurgents" are led by sinister foreigners of the kind that

Fallujah: History in the making

...CNN and their ilk can call these men what they like - terrorists,
Islamic fundamentalists, Saddam loyalists or foreign fighters. It doesn't
matter what they say. The men of the Mujahadeen in Fallujah (and everwhere
else in Iraq), like the Mahdi Army men I met in Kufa, are amongst the
bravest, most decent and most honourable men in all Iraq and they deserve
to do well and survive, to live - maybe to fight somewhere else another
day. But most of all! they deserve our respect, our admiration and our
hopes and prayers. One thing is certain events of the next few days will be
marked down in the pages of history...

Two U.S. Helicopters Shot Down in Iraq - Arabiya

Two U.S. Cobra helicopters have been shot down near the Iraqi city of
Falluja, Al Arabiya television said on Thursday, quoting U.S. military
sources. The Dubai-based Arabic satellite station gave no more details.
U.S. forces are battling Iraqi insurgents in Falluja. Al Jazeera television
also reported that two helicopters had been shot down...

Fighting in Falluja rages amid confusion

US assault leaves Fallujah in ruins and unknown numbers dead

The US assault on Fallujah is a criminal and barbaric operation. The
descriptions of the thrust through Fallujah's northern suburbs make clear
the city is being destroyed, and its poorly-armed defenders slaughtered, by
10,000 American soldiers over whom all moral constraints have been lifted.
A Christian Science Monitor journalist embedded with a marine unit wrote
Wednesday: "Every vehicle is treated as a potential car bomb and every p!
erson as a possible enemy. Approval even came over the radio to shoot dogs
with shotguns, to prevent them carrying explosives"...

US assault on Fallujah will increase resistance: Cook

success but strategic failure, increasing the resistance to the occupation
of Iraq, former minister Robin Cook said Wednesday. "What has happened in

Wednesday, November 10, with US-led troops saying they were in control of
70% of the resistance hub, and almost half of the city's mosques destroyed
by US air and tank fire. "Almost half of the city's mosques have been

Al-Badrani told Al-Jazeera.net. Several bodies littered the streets as

on. The hip hop mogul's voter registration drive during the U.S.
presidential elections was, he said, merely "phase one, step one for us to
get people engaged." Fantastic. I have a suggestion for phase two: P.
Diddy, Ben Affleck, Leonardo DiCaprio and the rest of the self-described
"Coalition of the Willing" should take their chartered jet and fly to
Fallujah, where their efforts are desperately n! eeded. But first they are
going to need to flip the slogan from "Vote or Die!" to "Die, Then Vote!"...

Economy Hurting More Than Violence

Violence is taking a heavy toll in Iraq, but everyday economic difficulties
could be hurting people more. Nearly 20 months into the occupation, Iraqis
find themselves in a desperate situation, with countless struggling to
survive. U.S. President George W. Bush said at a speech at the U.S. Army
War College May 24 this year that the United States wants "freedom and
independence, security and prosperity for the Iraqi people." Prosperity now
looks like 7! 0 percent unemployment. A recent study found that if the food
ration programme set up by Saddam Hussein's regime during the U.S.-led
sanctions was disbanded, more than 25 percent of Iraqis would starve to
death.

...So it's for morale that a city of 300,000 people has been destroyed and
scores if not hundreds of people murdered. But whose morale? The occupation
forces that's who. The state-run media's complicity is staggering. You'll
listen in vain to the BBC for even a hint of the reality in Fallujah,
ramming home once more what embedded really means: complicity in covering
up war crimes and crimes against humanity by the American and British
governments. Once more ! I implore you to bombard the Beeb with letters
letting them know what you feel about their propaganda campaign on behalf
BushBlair and their criminal gang of murderers!...
