Is it possible to support Israël?
Michel Collon

Amongst the numerous messages we get sent (on www.michelcollon, up to now
only in French), a small amount of posts are supportive of Israel,
mentioning this or that Palestinian behaviour. Please find a short answer
below:

I think one has to go back to the very beginning: Israël is a colonialist
state that chased Palestinians out of their territory in 1948. They oppose
their return which is in complete denial of international right.

With its colonies, this racist state has endlessly practised ethnic
cleansing in order to increase its own territory. It has violated UN
recommendations for sixty years, obviously protected by Europe and the
United States. These need a cop in the Middle-East to control the oil.
Israël is moaning against possible nuclear weapons in the neighbouring
countries but they have at least 200 nuclear warheads, illegally installed.

Israël pretends to be « the only democracy in the Middle-East » (as if an
Apartheid regime could be democratic!). However, Israeli's allies in the
Middle-East (United Emirates, Kuwait, Egypt, ...) are all atrocious
dictatorships. Furthermore, as soon as Palestinians from Gaza « vote
wrongly », Israël immediately enforces blocades or endless repression.

Those who criticise some of the actual Palestinian political movements
forget to say that previously, Israël destroyed left-wing or nationalist
parties in Palestine. And that they systematically refused to negociate
with Arafat whilst pretending the opposite.

All of the above is proven by historians (including Israelis as Shlomo Sand
and Benny Morris), declarations from Sionist leaders themselves and
testimonies from progressist jews nowadays.

The colonialists are now complaining about rocket attacks and acts of
terrorism. Certainly, not all methods are convenient. But since the
oppressors, superarmed, have deprived the oppressed of any means of legal
actions, could you please be so kind as to indicate the convenient way to
resist?

There won't be any solution in the Middle-East without enforcing a real
democracy for all. And thus recognizing all the rights of the Palestinian
people.

Yes, some Israelis are also suffering (besides, they suffer from poverty
and consequences of racial discrimination imposed by Israëli leaders).
Internet enables us to open the debate, here and there, about the real
causes of the problem. By highlighting the medialies and distortions of
History.
