peacepalestine update (two years and still going!)

Peacepalestine celebrates two years of activity! Almost a post a day, hundreds of articles, original pieces and translations have found a place on the blog. Thanks to the many contributors, and welcome to those who come to visit. May it keep on growing, and most of all, may it start to be putting more good news, in spite of the bloodshed and misery before our eyes and the hope that seems to dwindle. One thing is certain, there will always be a Palestine.

It’s been a while since there has been a proper email update from Peacepalestine. There have been quite a few new items since then, and here is a highlight of some of the more popular and more recent ones, beginning with Gilad Atzmon’s latest; an actual dialogue between himself and a well-known Rabbi that had taken place as a result of the paper Gilad wrote deconstructing David Grossman. Both are edifying and entertaining reads! Use the links below for immediate access.

We also have an interesting deconstruction of the Introduction Neve Gordon wrote about himself done by the one and only Jeff Blankfort. It is very hard to argue with Jeff’s logic.

There is an interesting item from the JTA about the new Speaker of the House of the United States Congress, Nancy Pelosi. Seems as though she takes to singing  Hatikvah when alarms go off…

There is a very good article by Lasse Wilhelmson on the Palestinian solidarity movement in Europe.

An outstanding document is Squaring Off on Zionism. We have four people who are heavily involved in the discourse, Khalid Amayreh, Gilad Atzmon, Santiago Alba Rico and Raul Sanches Cedillo who have addressed the question of Zionism. Introduction is by Manuel Talens.

The question is posed, Should Palestinians recognise Israel’s right to exist, and part of the response comes from Alan Hart’s “Zionism, the Real Enemy of the Jews” book.
