ACTION ALERT * UNITED FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE http://www.unitedforpeace.org | 212-868-5545 ============================================ UNITED FOR PEACE AND JUSTICE NEEDS YOUR HELP TODAY Please visit http://www.unitedforpeace.org/donate or call 212-868-5545 and make the most generous contribution you can today ============================================ We need your help. More specifically, we need your financial support, and we need it now. Ten days ago, the antiwar movement in this country showed its dynamism and breadth. In an unprecedented number of cities and towns -- close to 800, in all 50 states -- our voices were heard: It is time to end the war in Iraq and bring the troops home. United for Peace and Justice played a major role in making this the powerful weekend it was, supporting local groups all around the country with resources, publicity, and networking. Six weeks earlier, over 450 representatives from nearly 300 of the UFPJ member groups gathered in St. Louis at our 2nd National Assembly. In the course of two and half inspiring days, we agreed on a focused, strategic program of work designed to target the Bush administration's political vulnerabilities, strengthen our movement, and move us closer to our goal of bringing the troops home. All this means we're in a solid position to build a movement powerful enough to actually stop this war. UFPJ has the largest network of national and local antiwar groups in the nation, a strategic plan for targeting Bush's vulnerabilities, and a track record of excellent work. What we are missing is the financial resources that will allow us to do the work. And this is where each of you comes in....we need your financial support and we need it today. If every person reading this email made even a modest donation, we would have enough money to cover our office rent, phone bills, staff salaries and health insurance, web consultants, printing and other expenses for the rest of this year. Whatever you can send -- $10, $15, $25, $50 or more -- will go directly into our campaigns to solidify and expand antiwar sentiment across the country, counter the military's recruiting campaigns, pressure elected officials to cut off support and funding for the war, and target other key vulnerabilities in the Bush administration's war program. You can make your donation in one of three easy ways: * By credit card online: http://www.unitedforpeace.org/donate * By credit card over the phone: 212-868-5545 * By check or money order: UFPJ, P.O. Box 607, Times Square Station, NY NY 10108 The people of this country want the war in Iraq to end and for our troops to be brought home -- that's clear. But without financial resources, United for Peace and Justice cannot move forward on our antiwar campaigns. Your donation is urgently needed. Please, support the crucial work of this coalition by making the most generous contribution you can today! =========================================== MAY 1: END THE WAR! ABOLISH NUKES!
