100% PEACE Project

1 Minute

Every minute in the world 200 people, 99% of whom are children, die of
starvation, illness and wars while Bill Gates alone earns 15 thousand
dollars per minute.

150 thousand people died within the first minute after the nuclear bomb was
dropped on Hiroshima.

Every minute in the world, one woman dies during delivery.

A Kalashnikov can fire 100 bullets a minute.

Two bombs a minute were dropped during the air-strike upon Basra.

In year 2000, 1.9 million dollars a minute were spent on arms and military
expenses.

Every minute in the United States, a woman is raped, assaulted, or beaten.


Cinema for Peace Collective

Cinema for Peace is a collective open to all who share a stance against the
economic and military attacks of the global capital and its domination, a
stance in favour of direct and creative action.

We claim that cinema as a medium for _expression can be put to use in a
transformative way by all, to subvert the grammer of war we the inhabitants
of this world are subject to.


100% PEACE Project
The project that we have gathered around and invite you to is a film/video
project which will gather 100 one-minute films on "peace" by 100
film-makers in a 100 minutes film.

Films must be digital. They can be feature, documentary,
experimental, animation etc. according to its maker's choice. Film credits
will be produced by those in the collective who will volunteer to take part
in the editing process.

The film will be screened in various spots in the world on World Peace Day,
September 1st 2003. The deadline for submitting the films is 15 July 2003.


Conditions

The project is open to all without any prerequisites.

Since the project aims to gather 100 film-makers in one film, each
film-maker should join with one film only.

The film-makers who partake in the project wil be given a certificate.

In the event that there are over 100 participants, producing a second film
can be discussed.

Films should each be exactly 1 minute long, not longer, nor shorter.

Each 1 minute film should have a name.

L?action Cinéma Pour La Paix est lancée par un groupe libre né de
l?imminente nécessité de contrer la domination et les agressions
économiques et militaires du capital mondial, par un concept d?opposition
directe et positive, qui conçoit le cinéma non comme un art résérvé à une
elite mais comme un outil qui peut transformer la vie; un language
pacifique opposant une paix mondiale durable à une rhétorique martiale
largement diffusée.



Projet de ?La Paix à 100%?

Ce projet de ?Cinéma Pour La Paix? a pour but de créer un film de 100mn
constitué par des films (cinéma et ou vidéo) d?une minute, sur la paix, de
100 réalisateurs participants.

Dans le cadre du projet, chaque réalisateur est libre de créer son film,
fiction, documentaire, animation, expérimental ou tout autre genre
envisageable. Le seul contrainte est que le film doit être d?auteur et que
ce projet doit constituer sa première diffusion.

Après la préparation technique, la post-production et le montage, l?oeuvre
achevée sera diffusée le 1er septembre 2003 (le jour de la paix).

Le projet est ouvert à tous les participants sans exclusive ni séléction.

Comme le projet a pour but de réunir 100 différents réalisateurs dans un
seul film, chaque réalisateur ne peut y participer qu?avec un seul film.

L?organisation fournira un certificat de participation à tous les
réalisateurs/producteurs participant au projet.
