Former Congressman Paul Findley says one fundamental question remains
unanswered, why did we invade Iraq which had nothing to do with 9/11 and
posed no threat whatever to the United States? Paul Findley, 83, was
speaking at a symposium - "War or Peace" - in Newark CA, sponsored by the
American Institute of International Studies (AIIS). In a keynote speech
entitled "the Middle East and US Foreign Policy," the former Re! publican
congressman pointed out that after discarding one premise after another,
the president now trumpets the Iraqi war as urgently needed to bring
democracy and freedom to Iraq. "Ponder this question: Could President Bush
have rushed Congress and the American people into a bloody, $200 billion
war in order to bring freedom and democracy to the Iraqi? Of course not.
That justification would be rejected as preposterous." (...)
Paul Findley who served from 1981-1983 as a U.S. Representative from
Illinois, said that there can be no doubt that Israel is the real reason
for US invasion of Iraq...

feel as though, now I may have some people that will hear what I have to
say. My husband is currently serving in Iraq, his 2nd tour in 2 1/2 years.
After coming home from the first tour, he was very different and not at all
the man I was married to. He eventually became a born again Christian, and
since then, he has been given extra duties, given extra CQ! duties, money
taken from his check and much more. It really began to put a strain on out

Saddam lawyers seek to try Bush, Blair

Toppled Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's lawyers said Sunday they are seeking
to file a case against President George Bush and British Prime Minister
Tony Blair. President of the Jordan Bar Association, Saleh Armouti, who
recently joined Saddam's defense team, told journalists the attorneys will
seek Saddam's approval this week to file a law suit against the American
and British leaders in a European international court. The lawyers want to

US troops kill 3 Iraqi soldiers north of Baghdad

The War on Dissent Gets Creepy

On New Year's Day, I decided to start 2006 out with a public protest
against the war. Little did I know how public it would become. My younger
brother and I (he was only the wheelman, led astray) tagged three highway
overpasses near Toledo with "TROOPS OUT NOW!" (see photo, below). Suburban
cops with too much time on their hands and citizens with cell phones being
what they were, we were soon pulled over by five (no kidding) patrol cars
and arrested on no fewer than five! felonies each. For those of you who
haven't been paying attention to how state legislatures protect us from
crime, in the late 90's in Ohio it became a felony to spraypaint a public
building (called "getting tough on gangs") AND a felony to possess a can of
spraypaint in the commission of that crime ("possession of criminal tools"
says the Ohio Revised Code)...
