ONORE A SADDAM !
Messa a punto sul “dittatore sanguinario” a partire da un mondo governato
da assassini di massa e che intitola strade a killer mercenari
Fulvio Grimaldi, MONDOCANE FUORILINEA
tragedia, ascoltiamo...

Iraq before the Philistines attacked
Raffique Shah
... The country was so beautiful, such a reflection of what one expected to
encounter in that part of the world, and most of all, a country that was
obviously using its oil wealth to enhance the quality of lives of its
people. Based on the grenade attacks, I opened this column with, I can also
say that it was Khomeini who provoked Iraq into a war that drained the
resources of both countries. Even that war, though, failed to reduce Iraq
to a poverty-stricken count! ry. At the time of Saddam's misadventure in
Kuwait back in 1990, Iraq had more qualified professionals-medical doctors,
teachers, engineers, technicians-than all its neighbouring states, except
perhaps Iran. Its utilities reached most of the population: potable water
was plentiful, thanks to the great rivers; electricity reached almost every
household; education was universal; and religious freedom, even among
Shiites and Christians, was something to marvel at. It pains me, therefore,
when I see a once-thriving country reduced to rubble, its people to
paupers, by a philistine who has arrogated unto himself the power to
determine the destiny of sovereign states.

Al – Mada’ain peoples declare the civil disobedience
Association of Victims of American Occupation Prisons (NGO)
The peoples of the town Al – Mada’ain declared a civil disobedience as a
protest against the police and the national guards’ exercises when they
arrested a big number of the citizens that reached to 500 arrested and also
the assassination of many of the well-known men of the town by them. The
aggression was through the breaking into the houses that they did attack
women. The town people complained abou! t closing all the roads using the
concrete barriers (blocks) and barbed wire which made it hard for living
and delay the citizens to get to their work and school for many hours...

Baath Party Statement
The Occupation forces accentuate and intensify the immoral and criminal
mistreatment of detainees:
The life of Comrade Tareq Aziz is in danger.
The Arab Baath Socialist Party
...These days where the Resisting Baath writes with letters of light and
fire the Epic of the liberation revolution of Iraq, plunges and thrusts the
mightiest army in the world in shame, contempt, and abjection, the US
imperialism, racist sectarian and Zionist masonry circles' impotency and
hatred get eve! n more defeated and grow more degraded in the way the
Occupation purposely treats the heroic leaders with no exception.. Where
they try with despair to morally affect our leader Comrades Baathists,
including the militant Comrade Tareq Aziz' defiance and resistance. The
Occupation force wishes and desires were fulfilled by the complicity of the
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Concerning this question
we did have in the past and on more than one occasion, issued four
statements dealing with the detainees and prisoners situation and the ICRC
despicable condemned attitude which will for ever, be a stain on its
history for its sick neutrality in occupied Iraq...

Another US Army Scandal
Truth About Iraqis
This has been a bad week for the US military. From one scandal to another.
From accusations of barbarity to common thievery and now to this: "The Army
closed a criminal investigation of abuse allegations by an Iraqi detainee
last year, finding no reason to believe his claims, even though no
Americans involved in the case were questioned, according to Pentagon
records made public Thursday." More here ... No reason to believe his
claims. Why? Well, because he is an Iraqi. ! And Iraqis in their own
country under the boot of the foreign occupation must be lying. Abu Ghraib
was an imagination...

Killing Iraqis, Killing Afghans, Killing Pakistanis; more US crimes
Truth About Iraqis
A day after US media waved and cheered that Al Qaida's number two man, the
twisted Ayman Al Zawahri, had been killed in a Predator drone aerial
attack, news emerged that the US had committed yet another blunder.
According to Pakistani intelligence officials, the US had acted on
erroneous information when it struck the Pakistani border town of Damadola.
Instead of killing Zawahri, the US attack netted innocent villagers, men,
wo! men and children. Anti-American demonstrations broke out in many areas
of Pakistan and in some areas of Afghanistan - Afghans irked that their
government had allowed the attack from its area. The attack puts Pakistani
President Musharraf in a bind - Pakistani law does not permit foreign
military operations on its territory. And Musharraf has been the US darling
since he illegally seized power in the late 90s...

Iraqi Resistance Report for events of Saturday, 14 January 2006
Translated and/or compiled by Muhammad Abu Nasr, member, editorial board,
the Free Arab Voice. ( http://www.freearabvoice.org )
...In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat
al-Islam reported that US forces backed by armored vehicles and helicopter
gunships stormed into al-Anbar University in western ar-Ramadi early on
Saturday morning. The American occupation troops were still there when the
correspondent filed his rep! ort. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam
reported Dr. Khalid al-QarrahoGhly, the Director of Information of the
mosque as saying that SU forces had stormed into the University, wrecking
the furniture and equipment, including scientific supplies and laboratory
equipment. The Americans arrested a number of the students, and broke into
the private women’s dormitories as well. They gave no explanation for their
raids or their arrests...

"Defiance"
LENIN'S TOMB
It transpires that "defiance of the international community" is a crime
meriting sanctions and the threat of air strikes. Iran, for shame, is
supposed to be seeking nuclear weapons. Israel's Foreign Ministry
spokesperson has said, without any apparent trace of irony, "We believe the
combination of fanatical ideology together with nuclear weaponry is a
combination that no thinking person can feel comfortable with". And Israel,
for its part, may well be considering a military attack. Albeit,! however,
there may be a modest amount of embarrassment over this. Where to even
begin? Setting aside the obvious questions of justice and equity - if
Israel may have nukes, why not Iran, you might ask - I have straightforward
and obvious proposition: there is no evidence that Iran has a nuclear
weapons programme (...) Meanwhile! The United States kills 18 people in a
terrorist attack on Pakistan, claiming initially to have killed Ayman
al-Zawahiri in the raid. It is now clear that he was not there (...) Were
Iran to launch such an attack on a neighbouring state, one would hear
'bloody murder' hallooed from every cathode tube...

Judge resigns in Saddam trial
JEREMY WATSON
THE showpiece trial of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has been thrown
into turmoil by the resignation of the chief judge amid claims of political
interference. Senior court officials were last night trying to talk Kurdish
judge Rizgar Amin out of his decision. He said he was reluctant to preside
over the trial because Shiite leaders had criticised him for being "soft"
on Saddam in court. A court source said: "He tendered his resignation to
the court a few days ago! but the court rejected it. Now talks are under
way to convince him to go back on his decision. He's under a lot of
pressure; the whole court is under political pressure....

A General's Dishonor
Editorial The Washington Post
BY INVOKING his right to avoid self-incrimination, Maj. Gen. Geoffrey D.
Miller has avoided a much-needed cross-examination of his role in the abuse
of detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. He has also added to his
dishonor as a commander who oversaw improper interrogations at Guantanamo
Bay, then introduced some of the same practices in Iraq in violation of the
Geneva Conventions. Gen. Miller's subsequent account of his actions, in
sworn testimony to Cong! ress and Army investigators, has been contradicted
by at least four other witnesses, so it's not surprising that he has sought
shelter in the military's equivalent of the Fifth Amendment. He has yet to
be the subject of any charge. But anyone who still accepts the Abu Ghraib
cover story peddled by the White House and the Pentagon -- that the abuses
portrayed in now-infamous photographs were invented by rogue guards on the
night shift -- ought to be asking what this two-star general is afraid of...

Dark humor ...
Imad Khadduri , Free Iraq
Why do you really need this: "When the stress of the war in Iraq becomes
too severe, the Pentagon has a suggestion for military families: Learn how
to laugh.
With help from the Pentagon's chief laughter instructor (sic), families of
National Guard members are learning to walk like a penguin, laugh like a
lion and blurt "ha, ha, hee, hee and ho, ho. No joke. "I laugh every chance
I get," says the instructor, retired Army colonel James "Scotty" Scott.
"That's why I'm blessed to be at the Pentagon, where we definitely need a
lot of laughter in our lives."... "We believe our program prevents
hardening of the attitudes," says Scott, in one of his wordplay aphorisms
that beg for a rimshot. The founder and chief executive of the World
Laughter Tour is psychologist Steve Wilson, who calls himself "Cheerman of
the Bored." "The guiding principle is to laugh for no reason..."

Kurds challenge Baghdad over oil-exploration rights
David Axe, The Washington Times
The Kurdish government has begun drilling for oil at a new field near the
northern city of Dohuk, a direct challenge to Baghdad's control over the
nation's resources. Many Kurdish sources are reluctant to talk about the
exploration near Dohuk and at two other sites, where security is tight and
access by visitors restricted. But Per Thorsdalen, a member of the advance
party for a Norwegian firm involved in oil operations, confirmed! the
fields' existence and locations. Norwegian oil company DNO is the main
contractor for the Dohuk operation...

Smart-Bombing Iraqi Families While They Sleep
Fly Boys and Lie Boys
BRIAN CLOUGHLEY
So how are you feeling, you gallant warriors of the sky, you Top Guns of
Iraq and District? Did you sleep well last night after your few minutes of
bombing? Did you enjoy a pleasant breakfast back on the aircraft carrier?
Perhaps a bit of a workout at the gym? You are the people described in
glowing terms by White House robo-mouth Scott McClellan as "going out of
the way to avoid civilian casualties; they target the ene! my, they target
terrorists and the Saddam loyalists who are seeking to kill innocent
civilians and disrupt the transition to democracy". And you are also the
people who killed children when you blitzed a house in the Iraqi town of
Bayji at about 9.30 on the night of January 3, 2006...

25 more victims of the War of Terror
Eli Stephens, Left I on the News
In one week, two U.S. missile strikes in Pakistan have killed 25 people,
mostly women and children, and, as far as we know, all of them entirely
innocent. "Reports" say that Ayman al-Zawahiri "might" have been among the
dead. Let's say he was among the dead and the U.S. knew with absolute
certainty that he was there at the precise moment the missiles were going
to land (of course that's impossible, but let's assume it). How many
innocent civil! ians is (are?) too many?...

GI Special 4A7: I Wished I Could Rip My BDUs Off - January 14, 2006
www.militaryproject.org
... I debated long and hard with my friends and self about actually going
to Iraq. I weighed prose (very few of those) and cons and justified running
and staying. Finally time ran out and almost still undecided and a bit
afraid of being punished, I went to war. A short stay to climatize in
Kuwait at Camp New York I convoyed up into Baquaba, Iraq, which became my
AO for the entire year. I started to experience what I had a! gut feeling
about and the books taught me it was the real deal. It was an ugly and
vulgar display. I saw and took part in atrocities and civilian death. I saw
corruption and the values of good men degraded into that of animals. I
watched first hand as the most powerful nation in the world was manipulated
by our leaders into a brutal occupation for the profit for a minority
elite...

Arab armed forces in Iraq?
Truth About Iraqis
For more than a year now, the US has been floating the idea of resorting to
coercing its Arab allies (specifically those who received a healthy dosage
of aid dollars) to commit troops to Iraq. (...) this is far more insane
than sending US forces to Iraq in the first place. (...) Can you imagine
these Arab forces with a fraction of the US training and none of the body
armor, protected Humvees, mechanized divisions, and so on?

Iraq Soldiers Speak Out Supporting Murtha...
Huffington Post
On January 5, 2006, Congressman Murtha held a town hall meeting with Cong.
Jim Moran (D-VA 08). The soldier who asked the first question served in
Afghanistan and said that morale among troops is high and that he would
gladly serve in Iraq today. His comment was the only one replayed by Fox
News the next day. But the majority of soldiers in attendance spoke out
against the current policy. Fox News did not broadcast their remarks. Here

Berlin admits giving US bombing targets in Iraq
Tony Paterson, The Independent
Chancellor Angela Merkel's fence-mending visit to the United States is
being overshadowed by a growing scandal over reports that German
intelligence had fed America key information about military targets in Iraq
before the US invasion. German MPs have called for a full inquiry into the
allegations amid speculation about the future of Franz Walter Steinmeyer,
Mrs Merkel's Social Democrat Foreign Minister, who was a senior government
off! icial during the Iraq war.
The reports of German-US intelligence co-operation, aired on Germany's ARD
television channel, were confirmed by Berlin government sources and
appeared to run directly counter to official German government policy on
the war...

Condi Rice: Christian-Zionist Pit Bull
Kurt Nimmo, Another Day in the Empire
...In fact, since the Reagan presidency, Zionists and Zionist underlings
have infiltrated and compromised the State Department (most notable:
Elliott Abrams, the Iran-Contra criminal, was Assistant Secretary of State
under Reagan, and Richard Haass was Director of Policy Planning at the
State Department and Ambassador at large in the Bush Senior
administration). As Alfred M. Lilienthal notes (The Zionist Connection II),
Zionist influence! permeated the Reagan political machine—he appointed the
Zionist Maxwell Rabb as his campaign committee vice chairman and once in
office the Gipper appointed Joseph Churba (close friend of the late racist
and genocide-friendly JDL leader Meir Kahane) and Israeli citizens Edward
Luttwak and Uri Raanan. Others, who would later figure prominently in the
Bush the Lesser administration, included Richard Perle, Stephen Bryen (both
accused of espionage for Israel), Paul Wolfowitz, and Douglas Feith...

Who are the British to Talk?
Aparisim Ghosh, TIME Online Edition
In the brouhaha over British Brigadier Nigel Aylwin-Foster's criticism of
the U.S. military in Iraq, one important fact has been lost: the British
are hardly any better. (...) Still, things soon soured for the British in
southern Iraq. The turning point was the June 2003 killing of six British
soldiers in the town of Amarah after they had inflamed local sentiments by
taking sniffer dogs into a mosque. You don't need any colonial experience
to know t! hat bringing an animal to a place of worship is likely to offend
the worshippers — no matter what their faith.

More Lies about Iran
Mike Whitney
There’s been alot of rubbish written about Iran’s "removing the seals" from
its uranium enrichment equipment. The fear-mongering western media have
exploited the expression for all its worth. Even those who are normally
skeptical of the Bush-propaganda machine are taken aback by this
ominous-sounding phrase. What gibberish! How else does one make nuclear
fuel for electric power plants if the fuel-producing mechanism is under
lock and key? The fear-engendering description provide! d in the news would
have the reader believe that "diabolical" Iranians are ripping off the
seals with crowbars so they can quickly assemble their secret nuclear
stockpile to bomb Tel Aviv. This is the worse type of demagoguery...
