We will not fill these pages with the names of academics who have been systematically assassinated and murdered ! since lists of their names, respective qualifications, and the way in which they were murdered can be found on numerous internet websites. The case of Dr Kamal Sayid Qadir, one of Irbil City’s bright men, is one example of the robbery of the right of free thought that is now rife in Iraq under occupation. Now the IMF is occupying the country. In December, the International Monetary Fund, in exchange for giving a loan of $685 million to the Iraqi government, insisted that the Iraqis lift subsidies on the price of oil and open the economy to more private investment. As the IMF said in a press release of December 23, the Iraqi government must be committed to "controlling the wage and pensions bill, reducing subsidi! es on petroleum products, and expanding the participation of the private sector in the domestic market for petroleum products." We invaded their country, killed 100,000 people, left the place a wreck, and neglected our own cities – so they should pay us? It gets worse. GREEN PARTY OF THE UNITED STATES Citing a litany of alleged high crimes and misdemeanors, abuses of power, and violations of the U.S. Constitution, Green Party leaders urged Congress to initiate impeachment proceedings against President George W. Bush and Vice President Cheney as soon as possible. "The evidence that President Bush has abused his office and betrayed the trust of the American people is now so overwhelming that failure to undertake impeachment would make Congress even mo! re complicit in this administration's lawlessness," said Nan Garrett, Georgia Green Party co-chair and spokesperson for the National Women's Caucus. It seems like the DOD is trying to hide the real numbers or something. Let's see.. The total number of US soldiers wounded in Iraq, according to DOD, is less than 16000, and there some other 658 troops from Afghanistan. Yet, the counter on Global Security indicates that 20,748 US soldiers were evacuated from Iraq. 2,913 of them were wounded in Action, 5,876 with "non! -battle injuries", and another 11,959 because of "diseases". (What kind of non-battle injuries and diseases can evacuate more than 17,000!!!) But anyway, there's more inconsistency. Take a look at this piece of news that I found today: A total of more than 28,000 soldiers, airmen, sailors and Marines from Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom have already been treated at Landstuhl hospital, the largest American medical facility outside the continental United States... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=19235&s2=04>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: http://www.uruknet.info/?p=19235 The "we did not know" lie Imad Khadduri , Free Iraq ...The book said Dr. Alhaddad flew home in mid-September 2002 and had a series of meetings with CIA analysts. In all, the book says, some 30 family members of Iraqis made trips to their native country to contact Iraqi weapons scientists, and all of them reported that the programs had been aband! oned. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source as saying that he bodies were found by accident. All were Sunn! is who had been arrested several weeks ago by puppet "Interior Ministry" forces. The correspondent noted that the puppet "Interior Ministry," currently at the center of a torture scandal, only acknowledged the discovery of four bodies all of which, the "Ministry" claimed, had been killed by Islamists.
