to end the war.
Please make the most generous contribution to UFPJ you can today

Happy New Year!

First, we are happy to report that a major technical problem has been
resolved. Over the past couple of months, our email service provider had
difficulty processing our email blasts. Tens of thousands of you may not
have heard from us for quite some time. If you are one of these people,
we're very sorry!

This problem has been a tremendous burden for us, both politically and
financially. Through our email alerts, we bring crucial updates to people
in every corner of the country who are working to end the terrible
bloodshed in Iraq. At the same time, a large percentage of our financial
support comes from donations made in response to online appeals. As you
might imagine, with so many people not receiving email from us, our
fundraising has suffered.

This new year brings extraordinary political openings to bring this war to
an end. United for Peace and Justice urgently needs
<http://www.unitedforpeace.org/donate>your financial support to move this
work forward and bring the troops home.

Together, we accomplished an extraordinary amount in 2005. A solid majority
of people in the United States now oppose the war, Bush is on the political
defensive, and sentiment is growing in Congress for immediate withdrawal.

With your help, United for Peace and Justice is poised to ratchet up the
grassroots political pressure in the months ahead.

We are expanding our legislative action network, which already has several
hundred active members in more than 233 districts and 42 states, into a
force that is large enough to make sure every single member of Congress
hears from us -- frequently and emphatically.

We are busy preparing resources and materials for a powerful week of
nationwide local anti-war actions on the 3rd anniversary of the war in
March.

We are developing new tools to help grassroots activists increase the
visibility of anti-war sentiment in every community in the country.

Your generous support today will enable us to start the new year at full speed.
