...We are on the verge of possibly the most ludicrous and illegitimate
trials in history: those of Saddam Hussein and other leaders of the Iraqi
Ba’ath Socialist Party. "He gasses his own people," is a term used since
1990 about Saddam Hussein. The world has heard it time and time again.
However, few have delved into the truth of the matter. That one sentence is
so powerful that it allowed the world to turn its back on the plight of
Iraq and its people for more than a decad! e. And, even people who opposed
the illegal March 2003 invasion of Iraq applaud the overthrow of Saddam
because of his gassing the Kurds in 1988. How much of this is true?

Iraqi draft constitution? How wonderful that they are concerned about our
human rights in the future... but what about now? Why doesn’t Amnesty
International campaign or at least say something about the hundreds of
thousands of innocent Iraqis who are held for months, years in the American
prisons, without the least rights? The known and the unkno! wn prisons
inside and outside Iraq? Why don’t they do something about the hundreds of
Iraqis, whose bodies are found every day on the garbage piles, with
evidences of horrible torture on their bodies after they had been
disappeared for a few days? What about the miserable life the Iraqi
government is giving the Iraqis for months now, in every field? Does
Amnesty International consider the rewriting of the constitution now a
legal process? Obviously it does, but on what bases? The war and occupation

Saddam expects to prove innocence, lawyer says

jail cell as he readies himself for his trial next week. "He is in good
health with high morale," attorney Khalil al-Dulaimi said in an interview
this week. Saddam is confident he can prove his innocence. Saddam believes
the insurgency, which includes members of his former regime, will drive

Please Don’t Support My Troop

My son returned from Iraq last weekend after a year’s service. I confess to
breathing much easier now that he is out of that quagmire. I have a
personal request for all of you George W. Bush supporters and Christian
warhawks: please do not support my troop. I have visions and aspirations of
having him around, seeing him settle down and start a family at some point,
and being near as I grow older. Your support would mean that he would be
sent back to this war started and! continued on lies to become a target for
those who would rather live their lives without the interference of a
foreign, empire-seeking, new-world-order, invader...

...The Arab Baath Socialist Party issued a statement on Wednesday in which
it reiterated its denunciation of 19 November 2004 of the "Islamic Party"
as an "agent" of the US and a product of the American occupation. The
statement pointed out that the Baath had repeatedly warned against
sectarianism and against the reverse sectarianism that ! would appear to be
a defense of Sunnis against the Shi`ah and the Kurds but in fact would play
into the hands of the US effort to partition the country along ethnic and
religious lines. The position taken by the "Islamic Party" in accepting the
American "Constitution" for Iraq exposed the role of that party once again,
the Baath said, as a sectarian puppet
manipulated by the US and the Jordanian regime in an effort to prettify the
referendum regarding the occupation constitution that is based on Shi`i
sectarianism and opens the door to partition of the country...

The sources said an informant in Iraq who provided the tip had told
investigators about a terrorist plot involving New York's subway system.
That informant admitted he gave false information, the sources said. No.
Say it can't be so! Didn't an Iraqi man by the name of Ahmed Chalabi swear
that Iraq had WMD? When this was later determined to be a fabrication,
Chalabi said he would do a! bsolutely anything to ensure that Iraq was
invaded...
