... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=16021&s2=23>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: www.uruknet.info/?p=16021 Agents Provocateurs? William Bowles, I'n'I Fascinating. No really, the ‘evolution’ of state disinformation has probably never been better displayed than in the case of the two (more than likely) SAS soldiers who were ‘liberated’ after being arrested by the Iraqi police on 19 September by a phalanx of tanks and helicopter gunships that stormed the police station where the two undercover soldiers were being held after they allegedly failed to stop at an Iraqi police roadblock and subsequently opened fire on the Ira! qi police, killing one and wounding another. The car they were travelling in was loaded with weapons including allegedly, assault rifles, a light machine gun, an anti-tank weapon, radio gear and a medical kit (’standard’ SAS issue according to the BBC). According to at least two reports, the car they were traveling in (A Toyota Cressida) was “booby-trapped”. Subsequent accounts vary according to the source but according to the initial story broadcast on the BBC (19/9/05), the two men wore traditional Arab dress but then this changed to “civilian dress” (BBC TV News)... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=16014&s2=23>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: www.uruknet.info/?p=16014 The Tipping Point Where The Neocon Job Unraveled Phil Toler, Axis of Logic Exclusive No matter how they spin it, the red-handed nabbing of two British agents-provocateurs in Basra will lift the veil of deceit that has cloaked the otherwise unexplainable internecine attacks between Sunnis and Shi’ites. The long-held Israeli/Neocon goal has been to break up Iraq, among other Arab states, into more easily managed Bantustans. The obvious fault lines among the Sunni, Shia, and Kurd communities made Wolfowit! z believe achieving the goal would be a cakewalk. It wasn’t the toppling of Saddam he was talking about, you see, and all those terrible 'mistakes' made by Proconsuls Garner and Bremmer were as carefully calculated as the rest of this bloody farce... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=16010&s2=23>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: www.uruknet.info/?p=16010 British “Pond Life” Intel Ops Unmentioned in the Corporate Media Kurt Nimmo, Another Day in the Empire Jarlath Kearney, writing for the Daily Ireland, draws a crucial comparison that will of course be completely ignored by the larger corporate media. The incident in Basra, where two SAS undercover operatives were captured, dressed as Arabs and driving a car loaded with weapons and explosives, is similar to an earlier incident in Northern Ireland, where the SAS operated for years. “The incident drew parallels with! the March 1988 attack on the funeral of IRA volunteer Caoimhghin Mac Bradaigh,” writes Kearney. “During that incident, two armed and undercover army intelligence operatives drove directly at the cortege in west Belfast. After firing a shot, both soldiers were subsequently captured, beaten and shot dead by the IRA.” Lucky for the British intelligence operatives in Basra, they were not murdered, although apparently beaten... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=16017&s2=23>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: www.uruknet.info/?p=16017 Media Shifts Attention from SAS Screw Up to Iran Kurt Nimmo, Another Day in the Empire Leave it up to the Moonie-owned United Press International to attempt a none-too delicate effort to steer attention away from the fact British covert intel goons killed a cop and bystander and were caught red-handed cruising around Basra in car loaded with explosives and detonators. “Attacks on British forces in southern Iraq may be directed from Iran,” reports the UPI. “The clashes and the arrest of two undercover British sold! iers was almost certainly triggered by the arrest at the weekend of Sheikh Ahmed al-Fartusi, the leader of the Mahdi Army, a banned militia loyal to Moqtada al-Sadr.” Indeed, al-Fartusi, commander of al-Mahdi’s militia in Basra, was arrested by the Brits in a Gestapo-like raid, thus leading to “the spread of a great number of members of al Sadr Militia in al Basra streets and the gathering of many of these men near a building in the city center, which contains the headquarters of Al Sadr movement,” explains al-Mendhar News... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=16019&s2=23>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: www.uruknet.info/?p=16019 What is Covert Action? J.V. Grady, ICH ...The policy in Iraq is to keep the country destabilized and on the verge of civil war to show that it cannot govern itself and that it therefore requires the continued presence of American and British forces. The man accused of being behind much of the bombing going on there is Al-Zarqawi, a man known to be dead for some time now. Also, because he is (or, rather, was) a Sunni, bombings against the Shi’ia population, if blamed on him and the Sunni insurgents, can keep the! pot of civil war simmering, thus giving further justification to keeping American and British forces there. Most recently, two British Covert Operations specialists were captured in Basra, in Southern Iraq. They were disguised as Arabs and were carrying bomb-making materials (...) So, who is behind many of the bombings against the Shi’ia and Sunni populations? It is quite possible, even probable, that many of them are being carried out by American, British, and even Israeli Covert Action operatives... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=15994&s2=23>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: www.uruknet.info/?p=15994 Which one is the pornographer? Tim Grieve, Saloon.com We're all for finding creative ways to support the troops in Iraq. Bringing them home, sooner rather than later, sits right up at the top of our list. But as Andrew Sullivan notes, the folks at a Web site called Now That's Fucked Up have another idea: They're offering U.S. troops free access to amateur porn in exchange for soldiers' photos from the war. We checked out the site this morning. Some of the photos we saw there were about what you'd expect to see: S! oldiers goofing off and looking tough with their guns; troops hanging out poolside at the former home of Uday Hussein; a soldier standing with an Iraqi kid... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=16018&s2=23>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: www.uruknet.info/?p=16018 Cindy Sheehan Rips War Party in Baltimore Talk William Hughes, MMN Although she was hurt slightly in a police-inspired incident the night before in NYC, at a Union Square anti-Iraqi War rally, Cindy Sheehan was in splendid form by the time that she took the stage at Johns Hopkins University's Shriver auditorium, on the evening of September 20, 2005. A capacity crowd estimated at over 1,000 filled the facility, with plenty of flags, banners, signs and posters, too, decorating the confines of the facility. “'Camp C! asey' was very important to the Anti-War Movement,” Sheehan explained, as she began her talk, “but, we are going to need to be there (Washington, D.C.) in force this weekend... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=16016&s2=23>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: www.uruknet.info/?p=16016 Troops out now! Build a united front Stop the war at home Editorial, Workers World The devastation in the wake of Hurricane Katrina has revealed in stark terms that there must be two fronts in the anti-war movement: the fight to get the U.S. out of Iraq and the fight against poverty, racism and national oppression at home. The criminal occupation/war in Iraq must be stopped. Each day it continues, more Iraqis die; more Iraqi cities and towns suffer raids, cordons, abuses and every form of brutality fro! m the occupiers and their puppet troops. And each day more U.S. troops kill and are killed for Washington’s now-fading dream of conquest in the Middle East. (...)We've met Ms. Townsend before -- she's the brainless, heartl! ess bitch who tried to turn the London bombings into a selling point for Shrub's war in Iraq, by arguing that "the war in Iraq attracts terrorists "where we have a fighting military and a coalition that can take them on and not have the sort of civilian casualties that you saw in London." Thus consigning the dead and maimed civilians of Iraq to the limbo land of political expediency -- the human equivalent of road kill. The capture took place in the middle of ar-Ramadi Wednesday mor! ning. Iraqi Resistance fighters were openly deployed in downtown ar-Ramadi for several hours on Wednesday morning, an unusual occurrence. Sources in the Resistance told Mafkarat al-Islam that the deployment followed the admission by the 14 captives that they were members of the Badr Brigade – the armed wing of the Shi‘i sectarian Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) – and that they had three companions who were still at large in the city... <http://www.uruknet.info/?s1=1&p=16005&s2=23>Read the full article / Leggi l'articolo completo: www.uruknet.info/?p=16005 GI Special 3C60: The Sign - September 21, 2005 www.militaryproject.org ...Nearly 1,500 displaced Iraqi families have returned to the northern city of Talafar after Coalition forces ended an operation to rout insurgents hiding there, but the returnees said dozens of their homes had been totally destroyed. Up to 3,800 United States forces and 5,000 Iraqi troops took part in the operation in which 153 terrorists have been killed and 187 captured, US officials said, denying there were civilian casualties. Perhaps yes….This! is a type of countries without value, or significance… This is a type of countries without identity, or character… The Iraqi no longer introduces himself as an Iraqi, a Muslim, and an Arab… The Iraqi now should choose how to present himself under this canopy only, and choose a definite category: Sunnie, Shia'at, a Kurd, or an Arab.
