In London, the war against Iran has started
MICHEL COLLON
..."Neither Bush, nor the Ayatollahs". Will we hear again this motto spread
all around among the soft Left ? After causing so much pain about Iraq and
Yugoslavia ! In 2001, we denounced the negative effect of the slogans
"Neither Bush, nor Saddam", "Neither Nato, nor Milosevic ", "Neither
Sharon, nor Arafat". "For the last twelve years, this highly dominant
position among the European Intellectuals leftists, has condamned the
Anti-War Movement to passiv! ity. Because it used to put on the same level
the Aggressor and the Aggressed. If they were all as equally bad, we
wouldn't need to do anything to stop the aggression. The "Neither, Nor" is
the cancer of the Anti-War Movement. It must come to an end. It's not
Saddam or Milosevic who are threatening the whole world. It's Bush. It's
not Iraq or Yugoslavia who are condemning to death 35000 children of the
Third World, every day, it's the Multinationals....

Illegal War - Final World War? Iraq, America and China
Bill Henderson
In more than 40 op- eds on the net I have gone round and round why Iraq was
an illegal war. Evidence of temptation, motive, deceit, aggression and
incompetence. I haven't spent the time writing just to say 'Bad USA' or
'Bad Bush'. There are consequences to breaking the law, especially when you
consider yourself the world's policeman. Corrosion of the rule of law and
of needed multilateral institutions (the UN); loss of respect. One of my
centr! al themes is that our world is now a much more dangerous place.
Nuclear weapons - weapons of mass destruction - never went away. Humanity's
Bottleneck condition promises fierce competition for resources. In this
context the Bush Admin sent a signal to the world in invading Iraq. The
world is a much more dangerous place for everybody because the Bush Admin
chose a resource war path, a path for all of us toward a nuclear World War
Three...

Occupation breeds resistance
U.S. forces again under fire in Falluja
Workers World
...Iraq Solidarity, based in Spain, transmits a report from Iraq that U.S.
occupation forces put the city of Rawa, 200 miles west of Baghdad, under
siege from July 15-19. An assault on the town with intensive bombing from
the air has left numerous unarmed Iraqi civilians dead, according to Iraqis
who have been able to flee the area. Much as in Falluja last fall, the
siege of Rawa is creating a critical humanitaria! n crisis inside the city,
with serious shortages of food and medicines. U.S. troops are fighting
street by street and house by house against the resistance, according to
eyewitnesses (...) Meanwhile, in Falluja, the city that has become
synonymous with U.S. terror against Iraqis, the resistance has returned...

Guantanamo; the Calculus of Human Misery
Mike Whitney
...Guantanamo is the truest expression of Bush’s America; a looming block
monolith where the crimes of empire can be carried out with impunity. It
has become the primary symbol of the global onslaught on international law,
personal liberty and human decency. Languishing beneath the blood-striped
standard, the gun-towers and concertina wire depict an America that has
changed at its very core; a rogue nation severed from its moral foundation;
executing the coerc! ive policies of the state...

Green to Yellow .... before Red.
Imad Khadduri, Free Iraq
...In contrast, Iran is the big winner. The Shiites of Iraq increasingly
realize they need Iranian backing to defeat the Sunni guerrillas and put
the Iraqi economy right, a task the Americans have proved unable to
accomplish. And Iran will still be Iraq's neighbor long after the fickle
American political class has switched its focus to some other global hot
spot...

Iraqi women need to be represented in constitution
IRIN
Aid organisations working in the Middle East have called for greater
protection of women’s rights under the new constitution in Iraq, which is
currently being drafted (...) “It is vital that policy-makers in Iraq
listen to and act upon the needs of women, and ensure that women’s rights
are protected,” head of mission of MPDL-Iraq, Audrey Palama, said on
Thursday (...) The interim constitution in place in Iraq did not
sufficiently address the rights of women,! compared to the constitution
during the time of former president Saddam Hussein, according to Palama
(...)Iraq, according to Palama, was one of the best countries in the region
for upholding women’s rights under the former regime, comparing favourably
to neighbouring countries...

GI Special 3B97: The Traitors At Ft. Carson - July 21, 2005
...THE U.S. Army will again try to court-martial Sgt. Kevin Benderman for
refusing to participate in the illegal occupation of Iraq. After serving
one tour of duty in Iraq, Benderman--a 10-year veteran of the Third
Infantry Division--refused to deploy for a second tour and filed for
conscientious objector (CO) status in late 2004. During his first tour,
Benderman was sickened by the illegal and immoral nature of the war--and
the orders he received to sh! oot Iraqi children and ignore Iraqi civilians
pleading for medical assistance. But the Army denied Bendermans CO
application and instead charged him with desertion and missing movement...

Military resister Camilo Mejía:
“I pledge my allegiance to the poor and oppressed”
Socialist Worker
CAMILO MEJIA was the first U.S. soldier who served in Iraq to go public
with his refusal to continue fighting George Bush’s war for oil and empire.
Camilo refused to be redeployed to Iraq before the revelations about
torture at the Abu Ghraib prison came to light, but these abuses didn’t
take him by surprise. One of his first assignments when he arrived in Iraq
in 2003 was to detain--and abuse--Iraqi pris! oners by depriving them of
sleep and using mock executions to terrify them...

More Explosions in London: Psy-ops in Progress
Paul Joseph Watson & Alex Jones /Prison Planet
Ask the question, who benefits? Today is the last day of parliament before
an 80 day break. So if the governmen wanted to get those anti-terror
measures through which were proposed after the 7/7 bombing, then this
status of high alert is the perfect climate to get them rammed through
without dissent. Sky News reported that members of parliament could be
recalled tonight in a special session for the express purpose of pas! sing
that legislation. And what does the legislation include? Designating anyone
who writes articles or puts out a website that advocates or gives aid and
comfort to the terrorists...

Barbara Lee Submits Resolution of Inquiry on Downing Street Memo
AfterDowningStreet.org
Today, Congresswoman Barbara Lee introduced a Resolution of Inquiry calling
on the Bush administration to produce information to answer questions
raised by a series of classified British memos that suggest that pre-war
intelligence was fixed in order to justify the invasion of Iraq. “These
documents offer strong evidence that the Bush administration ‘fixed’
intelligence in order to mislead our country into war, evidence the ad!
ministration has failed to dispute or answer,” said Lee. “Americans deserve
to know the truth about the circumstances under which our troops were sent
to war.”...

O.K. — Now I'm Mad!
Monica Benderman, OrbStandard.com
The wife of a US National Guardsman wrote that if her husband were to have
died during his tour of duty in Iraq, "I would be promoting all the good he
did in this world and not downsizing it and belittling the efforts he and
his comrades made." (Shona Emery, NH Union Leader, July 15). My husband
[Kevin] DID NOT ENLIST TO DEFEND HIS COUNTRY SO THAT ORDINARY CITIZENS
COULD REMAIN FREE TO ABUSE THE SYSTEM. "All the good he did in this world"

Algerian Diplomats Are Abducted in Iraq
Edward Wong, The New York Times
The top Algerian diplomat in Iraq and another envoy were abducted by gunmen
today in what appeared to be the latest strike in the insurgent campaign to
drive Muslim diplomats from the country. The kidnapping, which took place
in daylight in an upscale neighborhood of western Baghdad, followed attacks
earlier this month on three Muslim diplomats and could impair the Bush
administration's efforts to persuade neighboring countries to send ambass!
adors here...

Strategy of Tension Continues
Kurt Nimmo, Another day in the empire
More “incidents” in London. “This incident has shaken me out completely and
I am afraid to say I have lost my calm,” a poster on the BBC site admits.
“This cant be happening to us, not again,” writes another. “Only one person
was reported wounded, but the explosions during the lunch hour caused major
disruption in the city and were hauntingly similar to the July 7 bombings
in which 52 people and four suicide attackers were killed,” reports the As!

GI Special 3B95: "They May Have To Come Home And Fight" - July 20, 2005
...My son first came to Fort XXX in pain, (which paperwork was not followed
up on by NCO -- he was to go to Walter Reed Spinal Unit). Instead made to
do PT. Afterwards one day he had a seizure while driving his car - then
another day he had a seizure - and another one. They thought he had a
stroke but he didn't - he has 4 ruptured discs, shoulder, hip, knee, and
ankle injury due to roadside bomb - but the seizures stopped but they are
checki! ng him for chemical exposure or could be the shots they are given.
Another soldier after coming back -- she started having seizures too, then
another one and couldn't run and another one and then she did have a stroke
and being treated in XXXX City for this now. The doctors are saying could
be the shots or chemicals in Iraq. So there are more and more coming home
having seizures never had them before. And this is an outrage and no one is
listening really. I hope someone really speaks out. So there will be more
come out about the dirty little secrets of the war. We need to get out of
there - they may have to come home and fight...

There is a posting at WagNews - based on the excellent work at Team 8 +

by John Doe II further down the page) - on the big discrepancies between
the eyewitness descriptions of the bomber on the bus and the appearance of
the man who is said to be that bomber, Hasib Hussain, from the CCTV
footage. The differences are so striking that Hussain couldn't have been

THE BIGGEST SCOOP OF THE YEAR!
So why isn't the mainstream media reporting it?
Michael Rivero, WhatReallyHappened.com
By now, it is apparent to everyone not blinded by fierce partisan loyalty
or lust for war profits that President Bush, aided by his Neocon
co-conspirators, lied to trick this nation into a war of conquest against
the people of Iraq. The evidence is overwhelming. 1. There were no weapons
of mass destruction in Iraq. 2. Iraq was not supporting and aiding Al
Qaeda. 3. Iraq had not! hing to do with 9-11. Bush's parasitic sycophants
have tried to claim that all these misstatements were "bad intelligence",
i.e. honest mistakes anyone could make. But as will be shown below, the
case for war was based on deliberate lies, faked documents, and deceptive
photos...

US forces have imposed a stringent blockade once again on the city of
al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, not allowing anyone in or out of the
city. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported witnesses as saying that
US occupation troops closed the northern exit from the city, known as the
as-Sajar Road, and the eastern exit on ! the road to Baghdad. The western
and southern exits from the city remain closed for the third day running...

The Link to London
The True, Terrible State of Iraq
PATRICK COCKBURN
Rudyard Kipling's poem Mesopotamia denouncing those responsible for
Britain's disastrous expedition in the First World War to what became Iraq,
was written in 1917. By the time the war ended at least 31,000 British and
Indians were buried somewhere in the country. The difference between
Britain's disastrous foray into Iraq then and the results of the invasion
88 years later is that those responsible have no need "to sidle back t! o
power". They never lost it either in Britain or the US. It is nevertheless
extraordinary to see Donald Rumsfeld, author of so many American failures
here in Iraq, still holding his job as Secretary of Defence...

...Long-bearded Saddam, who was wearing a white shirt, a suit jacket and
glasses, appeared to be defiant and stared directly into the judge's eyes,
who in turn seemed uncomfortable and avoided eye contact with the ousted
president. The toppled leader also accused the current Iraqi government of
being a U.S. puppet. "I am detained by the new government which was

George W. Bush is a Goddamn Liar - Part Deux

every member of Congress completely insane? Does any member of the media

realizes that this is a lie? This repeated lie is the conclusive evidence
