La battaglia di Israele a Falluja
Rashid Khashana, Dar Al-Hayat - Peacelink
paramilitari in Irak...

Profughi di Falluja
Dahr Jamail, Peacelink

Dahr Jamail, Osservatorio Iraq
I militari degli Stati Uniti hanno usato gas velenosi ed altre armi
non-convenzionali contro i civili in Fallujah, secondo quanto segnalano
testimoni oculari. "I gas tossici sono stati usati a Fallujah," dice Abu
Hammad, commerciante di 35 anni di Fallujah all’IPS. "Hanno usato tutto –
carri armati, artiglieria, fanteria, gas tossici. Fallujah è stato
bombardata da ogni lato."...

Liberation not Election under Occupation Is the Answer
Ibrahim Ebeid, Al-Moharer
Election in Palestine and Iraq does not reflect the hope and the
aspirations of the Palestinian and Iraqi peoples. It serves the interests
of the Zionist US-‘Israeli’ occupation of Iraq and Palestine, in order to
impose governments to be moved like robots with no brains of their own. The
candidates in Iraq came on top of American tanks. These tanks destroyed
Iraq and left no stone without being turned and shot at...

A Call for Light
Vigil outside the BBC, Bush House, Aldwych, London.
The first barrage of modern warfare is not heard on the battlefield.
Instead, it thunders forth from our TV screens and leaves trails of fiery
words across the printed page. It is often said that ‘the first casualty of
war is truth’, but we rarely reflect on the bloody reality of these words.
During war, more than at any other time, language is twisted, stretched,
and degraded. 'Precision airstrikes', 'collateral damage', and! 'friendly
fire': all phrases thrown over a tragedy like a blanket over a corpse; to
blur uncomfortably sharp edges and make tolerable the ugly truth beneath...

Breaking News from Fallujah
Ewa Jasiewicz, Infoshop
This is news gathered from a UK contact working for a small relief
organisation based in Baghdad. He has been in regular contact with relief
staff on the ground in Iraq who for the past two weeks – since November
10th - have been trying to get convoys of aid into Fallujah but have been
prevented from doing so by Occupation Forces. The first time they tried to
get a convoy in was June. The convoy was halted and in effect stolen,
confiscated, by Iraqi soldiers und! er the command of Occupation Forces
(...) The most recent Convoy was attacked by Occupation Forces on Wednesday
24th November...

50% of Iraqi Police have Deserted
(The 50 year Occupation)
William Kulin
Unfortunately for DoD planners, ''Iraqification'' isn't working. The US has
made ''essentially no progress in increasing the number of Iraqi forces
during the year 2004'', according to GlobalSecurity.org. While there were
210,000 Iraqi forces of various agencies on hand in January 2004, the total
fell to 180,000 by October. These numbers simply refer to troops who are
registered, most are not trained at all. The report's most startling !
finding is that the number of police has plummeted from 84,000 to 43,000 in
the past eight months...

Iraq push may impose even stiffer demands
By John F. Burns The New York Times
As U.S. commanders turn their concentration toward the area of sullen towns
and villages that straddle the southern approaches to Baghdad, they face a
battle that is in many ways as crucial to their hopes as Falluja has been.
And they enter a battleground where loyalties to Saddam Hussein and the
burning enmity for America are at least as intense. Without a major success
here, the battle for Falluja, 80 kilometers, or 50 miles, to the n!
orthwest, could come to be seen as a Pyrrhic victory...

America's 'Diên Biên Phu' Has Started in Iraq
Joe Vialls
As Republican Guard strategists suck U.S. combat troops further north into
unwanted urban areas like Fallujah, Samarra, Kirkuk and Mosul, America's
supply lines from Kuwait in the far south become longer and thinner.
Eventually those supply lines will be attacked by the Shi'ite Mehdi Army
and cut completely, thereby starving the U.S. combat troops into surrender.
To understand how and why this will happen, we need to travel back in time
to March 1954...

Voting in the shadow of fear and death in northern Iraq

Sunday, bringing to almost 60 the number of men executed and dumped on the
streets of the northern city in the past 10 days (...) Meanwhile, another
report adds Iraqi officials say holding elections in parts of Iraq's main

Fallujah: The BBC's director of news responds
Medialens.org
...Has the BBC ever reported that the British or US governments are
involved in state terror? We doubt it. And yet both are undoubtedly using
the demonstration effect of mass violence to terrorise insurgents, and
Iraqis generally, into abandoning resistance to the occupation. US military
officials have openly stated that the appalling fate suffered by Fallujah
is intended 'pour encourager les autres' - a very clear example of state
terrorism...

Radical cleric's movement re-energized, may make a bid in January vote
Hamza Hendawi, Associated Press
Followers of radical Islamic cleric Muqtada al-Sadr are trying to
re-energize support for him in the movement's stronghold in Baghdad's Sadr
City by reaching out to its 2 million mainly Shiite residents with relief
work, protection and spiritual counseling. After two bloody revolts against
U.S. forces this year, the ''Sadrists'' are back to what they do best
street politics and they seem likely to cash in on th! e new energy and
make a bid for the January elections...
