URGENT - BUSH IN ROME / Preemptive censorship against free radios.

This morning the National Electric Company has unplugged without any
warning the Monte Cavo plant where the transmitting antennas of Radio Città
Aperta and Radio Onda Rossa are based. The radios are at the moment shut
down an they will probably be so for the entire day. Accoring to the
Electricity company it's a simple matter of mantainace works. "It is
something outrageous because while the Gasparri communication law
recognizes the important role of local broacasting, this role is taken away
in a special day with great need of information an communication" say the
director of Radio Città Aperta. The MP Paolo Cento has announced a
pearlliiamentary inquiry.
