Peace Brigades International 20th anniversary conference
26th - 27th October 2001 in Konstanz, Germany and Romanshorn, Switzerland

Dear Friends

As you may know, PBI is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. To mark
this special occasion, we would like to invite you and other members of
your organisation to an international conference on

Promoting nonviolence and protecting human rights -
the role of civilian third party initiatives in conflict areas

The event brings together representatives and individuals from a wide range
of backgrounds in peace and human rights movements, organisations and
communities they support, as well as intergovernmental and state bodies. It
is an opportunity to learn from each other's experiences and to spread the
word on third party initiatives to a wider public. The conference also
presents an excellent platform for the international exchange of ideas and
for establishing new partnerships.

Conference Programme
The attached Acrobat Reader file contains the invitation, the preliminary
programme, general information and registration form. Should you have any
difficulties in downloading and printing the file, please send us an email
requesting either a word version by email or hardcopies by normal mail.

Registration
Please use either the registration form included in the attached Acrobat
file (print out, fill in and fax it), or the attached email registration
form (fill in, save as file with your name, and send back by email).

More information and translations
Conference languages are English, Spanish and German.
Further conference materials will be published on the Internet as soon as
available.
