Ciao a tutti! Volevamo farvi sapere che, malgrado la patetica copertura 
mediatica ricevuta, oggi a New York c'è una situazione davvero incredibile: 
ovunque, la polizia impedisce alla gente di spostarsi ad Est per 
manifestare davanti alle Nazioni Unite. Abbiamo visto poliziotti in assetto 
antisommossa e a cavallo, che facevano pressione su drappelli di persone 
per disperderle. In particolare, abbiamo assistito alla scena di un 
poliziotto che ha scagliato con violenza un manifestante contro una porta 
di alluminio. Un nostro amico è stato colpito dai lacrimogeni, e un altro è 
stato preso a manganellate, mentre tentavano di avvicinarsi al luogo della 
manifestazione. La maggioranza dei media afferma che alla manifestazione 
hanno partecipato 100.000 persone, senza però fare cenno all'uso risoluto 
della forza che la città ha ingaggiato per impedire alla gente di raggiungerla.

Qui negli Stati Uniti c'è una maggioranza silenziosa che non è a favore 
della guerra del Presidente Bush, ma non ci viene data voce e le nostre 
proteste passano inosservate. Vi preghiamo di far conoscere la nostra 
opinione nei vostri paesi, perché ci sentiamo davvero impotenti. Grazie per 
l'aiuto.
