| QUESTO E' L'APPELLO RICEVUTO OGGI dal Figlio Ziad Tariq Aziz SULLA GRAVE SITUAZIONE DI SALUTE dell'EX Ministro TARIQ AZIZ
Egregio Signore,
sono circa 10 anni che mio padre è in custodia
presso le forze militari americane; in questi giorni ricorre anche
l'anniversario del tentato assassinio del 1980, al quale è
sopravvissuto.
Tale attentato alla sua vita, che ha portato alla
morte dei civili passanti, è stato progettato ed eseguito dalle stesse
persone che stanno governando l'Iraq oggi, e che stanno progettando di
ucciderlo di nuovo, lentamente e questa volta con nessuno che possa
vedere.
All'ultima visita in prigione (è detenuto a Baghdad) mia madre e le
mie sorelle l'hanno trovato sofferente a causa del quarto ictus dal
2003; è caduto sul pavimento nel mezzo della notte ed è stato lasciato
in cella per tutto il tempo fino alla mattina.
Non è stato visitato dal dottore, nè è stato portato in ospedale, nè
gli sono state fornite cure mediche di nessun genere dal momento in cui
ha avuto l'ictus.
E' stato il suo compagno di cella che ha provato a
prendersi cura di lui al meglio delle sue capacità, e per la grazia di
dio, non posso pensare a ciò che poteva succedere.
La sua capacità
nel parlare coerentemente è diminuita; mia madre e le mie sorelle hanno
potuto a stento capire quello che stava dicendo loro.
Hanno trovato
anche infiammazioni e ulcere diabetiche sui suoi piedi e sulle gambe,
che potrebbero portare alla cancrena e, se non curata subito,
all'amputazione degli arti.
Non ha mai avuto queste ulcere prima, le ha ora a causa della negligenza con cui viene trattato.
Come ho detto sopra, la stessa gente che ha provato ad assassinarlo nel 1980, sta provando ad assassinarlo ora.
Dicono
di essere un faro dei diritti umani e della democrazia per l'intera
regione, ma mancano di compassione e umanità. Hanno un'agenda specifica
da seguire, non sono interessati alla giustizia, vogliono solo vendetta.
Io
e la mia famiglia abbiamo urgente bisogno di informare la comunità
internazionale e la stampa mondiale attraverso i vostri canali di
informazione, in merito alla situazione di mio padre.
Le condizioni
di mio padre stanno degenerando giorno per giorno e sono davvero
preoccupato per ciò che il futuro potrebbe riservargli se non viene
curato adeguatamente con i trattamenti di cui ha disperatamente bisogno
nell'immediato.
Vi ringrazio in anticipo per tutto l'aiuto che potrete fornirci, sono fiducioso che proverete a fare del vostro meglio.

Dear Sir,
It has been almost 10 years since my father had been
taken into custody by the American forces, it also the anniversary of
the assassination attempt he survived in 1980. This attempt on his life,
which led to the death of civilian bystanders, was planned and executed
by the same people who are ruling Iraq today, and who are planing to
execute him again, slowly and this time with nobody to see.
On the
most recent visit to the prison he is being held at in Baghdad, my
mother and sisters found out that he had suffered his fourth stroke
since 2003, he fell on the floor in the middle of the night and was left
in his cell for the whole time until morning. He has not been visited
by a doctor, nor was he taken to the hospital, nor was he offered any
medical attention of any kind since he had the stroke. Was it not for
his cell mate who tried to take care of him to his best ability, and for
the grace of God, I can not think what might have happened.
His
ability to speak coherently is basically diminished, my mother and
sisters can barely make out what he was saying to them. there were also
inflammations and diabetic ulcers on his feet and legs, which could lead
to gangrene and, if no immediate treatment and care were to be provided
, amputation.
He never had these ulcers before, and he is only having them now because of the neglect he has bee treated with.
As
I said above, the same people who tried to assassinate him in 1980, are
trying to assassinate him now. They claim to be the beacon of human
rights and democracy for the region, but they lack any compassion or
humanity whatsoever. They have a specific agenda, the are not interested
in justice, they only want revenge.
My family and I urge you to
inform the international community and world press through your
channels, of my father's situation. My father's situation is
deteriorating by the day and I am truly afraid of what the future might
hold if he is not provided with the proper care and treatment he
desperately needs immediately.
