Cari amici,
dopo due anni e mezzo di interruzione riprende il nostro programma televisivo mensile "Intrecci: sguardi sul mondo".
Qui di seguito il comunicato stampa della prima puntata I Liguri e il Pacifico.
Verrà presentata in anteprima a Lavagna la mattina del 7 dicembre nell'ambito del Festival Cinematografico "Cimamerica" (che propone anche diversi altri nostri documentari sulla realtà Latinoamericana).
Invitiamo tutte le ONG e le realtà interessate, e tutti i possibili aspiranti collaboratori, a contattarci per segnalare idee, iniziative, proposte - in Italia e nel mondo - riannodando quei fili di conoscenza sempre più compressi e limitati dall'informazione ufficiale.

Intrecci: sguardi sul mondo n. 1/2005 - I Liguri e il Pacifico (10'15")

Gli Italiani già dal '500 sono presenti In tutte le colonie spagnole dell'America del Sud; conseguenza dell1alleanza della Spagna con alcuni stati della penisola, soprattutto con la Repubblica di Genova.
Nella Biblioteca Nazionale di Santiago del Cile abbiamo trovato inedite tracce di uno di loro - Giovanni Battista Pastene - nelle lettere autografe scritte dal conquistatore Pedro de Valdivia a Carlo V°, l1imperatore sul cui regno 'non tramontava mai il sole'.

Altri capitani genovesi stabilrono nella seconda metà del 500 un attivo traffico tra i porti del Callao e Valparaiso, inaugurando il commercio marittimo di cabotaggio, che con la fine del dominio spagnolo fu in gran parte monopolio dei marinai genovesi; avanguardia dei futuri emiganti che con un lunghissimo viaggio attraverso lo stretto di Magellano daranno nella seconda metà dell1800 la loro impronta ai porti di Valparaiso e del Callao.

Intrecci    
il magazine televisivo mensile sui problemi dello sviluppo e i rapporti tra nord e sud del mondo, distribuito dal gennaio 2000 dalla ADN Kronos ad un circuito di 110 televisioni locali, riprende dopo due anni di interruzione.

Intrecci
è il primo tentativo organico in Italia di dare voce e volti alla realtà del sud del mondo, nei suoi contatti con la nostra; per allargare gli "sguardi" su un mondo sempre più interdipendente, e offrire temi di discussione sui grandi problemi, ancora irrisolti alle soglie del nuovo millennio.

Here is the Press Communiqué of the first episode The Ligurian and the Pacific.
We invite all the NGOs, those who aim at collaborating with us and all the people interested in it, to contact us and express ideas, initiatives and proposals - in Italy and around the world - to resume the thread of a knowledge limited by the official information system.

We hope we can still continue to share with you this journey.

Intrecci: sguardi sul mondo (Knots: glimpses on the world) no. 1/2005 - The Ligurian and the Pacific (10'15")

In the 16th century the Italians were already present in all the Spanish settlements in South America, and this was a consequence of Spain's alliance with a few states of the peninsula, mainly with Genoa republic.
In the national library of Santiago (Chile) we have found inedited news about one of them - Giovanni Battista Pastene - in the letters  written by the conqueror Pedro de Valdivia to Carlo the Fifth, the emperor on whose reign "the sun was never down2.

In the second half of the 16th century a brisk traffic among the ports of Callao and Valparaiso was established by other sea captains from Genoa, inaugurating the coasting trade, which after the end of the Spanish rule became mostly controlled by the Genoese sailors. These were the forefathers of the future emigrants who in the second half of the 19th century, after a long voyage through the Magellan Straits, will leave their trace in Valparaiso and Callao ports' history.

the monthly TV magazine on development issues and the relation between the North and the South of the world, distributed, as from January 2000 by ADN Kronos to some 100 local TV networks, has started again.

In the 39 episodes realized up to now, between 2000 and 2003, all available in videocassette, we have faced themes such as: refugees, globalization, debt, human rights, migration flows, children, humanitarian emergencies, environment and development, rural women, "a different side" of Africa, Pekin+5 (women's condition 5 years after U.N. Intrecci
is the first attempt in Italy to show the everyday life of the South of the world and to find points of contact with our reality. The spectators have the possibility to make suggestions and proposals and this will help to broaden our glances out onto a world which is more and more interdependent. They will also be offered the opportunity to discuss problems still unsolved at the beginning of the new millennium.
