Mass March on Wall St. in NYC
Fifty years ago, Rosa
Parks helped launch the modern Civil Rights movement when she refused to give up
her bus seat to a white man, defying the racist segregation laws and saprking
the Montgomery Bus Boycott. This struggle demonstrated that the only
effective way to make real change is to build a grassroots movement in the
streets.
A nationwide coalition of civil rights, antiwar, labor, and
community activists is calling for a Nationwide Strike Against Poverty, Racism,
and War on Decmeber 1, the 50th Anniversary of Rosa Parks' heroic act.
Across the country, students, activists, and labor organizers are planning
walkouts, teach-ins, direct action, and protests.
