un commento della direttrice dell' Institute for Environmental Research
and Education riguardo alle sue assunzioni metodologiche di base :

"I find it very interesting that environmental sustainability should be
evaluated using so many indicators based on social and economic
vulnerability and capability and only one real measure of environmental
sustainability (health of environmental systems). Surely environmental
sustainability is about the rate of change of the state of the
environment,
with only systems where the environment is no longer being degraded or,
even
better, is improving to achieve pre-agricultural levels of ecosystem
health
are truly sustainable.

With four of the five parameters related to economic activity, it is not

surprising that the most developed nations fare best with these
indicators".
