Quanti ventilatori servono? Leggo qua sotto:
Il 20 o 30% dei
pazienti ospitalizzati CoViD-19 richiedono terapia intensiva. Di
questi, il 50-70% richiedono di essere attacati al ventilatore
d'ossigeno, ovvero dal 2 al 4% del totale dei pazienti. Infine, in
casi eccezionali serve l'ECMO, ovvero l'ossigenatore

"Between 20 and 30 percent of COVID-19 patients who are
hospitalized require intensive care. Among those patients,
47 to 71 percent require artificial lung ventilation in order
for their bodies to absorb enough oxygen. That number is equivalent
to
between two and four percent of all infected patients. In
especially severe cases, Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
may be used. (...)
ECMO may be called for in 0.1 – 0.3 percent
of COVID-19 cases"

Russia's Defense Ministry announced over the weekend that
starting Sunday the military will deploy medical help to
hard-hit Italy, the coronavirus epicenter in Europe which has
seen its death toll take record jumps in the past days, now
approaching 5,000 killed from the disease.
The Kremlin said the emergency aid was initiated on orders from
President Vladimir Putin after he spoke with Italian Prime
Minister Giuseppe Conte on Saturday, and will include eight
mobile brigades of military medics and special disinfection
vehicles.
The operation will see Russia's top military specialists in
virology and epidemics deploy to the hardest hit regions of
Italy. The doctors and specialized equipment is being flown on
nine Il-76 aircraft from an airfield outside Moscow.
"A group of some 100 people is ready for the flight,
which consists of leading specialists of the Russian Defense
Ministry in the field of virology and epidemiology,
who have major international experience in fighting against the
epidemic along with modern equipment for diagnosing and carrying
out disinfection efforts," the ministry said.
Russia currently has only 306 confirmed cases and one death,
most concentrated in Moscow.
The country is also said to be well-stocked with necessary
equipment which has been in short supply in some places in the
West, such as ventilators.
Italy recorded its biggest jump in deaths yet throughout the
crisis — at 800 in a single 24-hour period — on Saturday.

"Whether or not Russia’s healthcare system will be able to withstand
the coronavirus pandemic is an open question. One way to move toward
an answer is to compare conditions in Russia to those in Italy.
Local
doctors working in the hard-hit Lombardy region have repeatedly
pointed to a shortage of ventilators, devices that can be
necessary to keep patients breathing in severe cases. Data collected
by Meduza indicates that
Russia’s supply of ventilators is quite
extensive: Even
the number available per capita in
some geographically peripheral regions, not to mention Moscow,
significantly
exceeds ventilator supplies in Western countries. That said,
ventilators alone are not enough to overcome the pandemic."
