What still is expected to close Guantanamo?

 

What do you expect? The Pres. Obama had it already promised when he was elected the first time. This promise is still unfulfilled in front of the American people as before the whole world.

 

It is a question of justice.

Because Guantanamo is an unjust jail, in which one is locked up without trial.

A jail that is against the dignity and the right of the person, against his supreme rights

already enshrined in 1679 in England by the Habeas corpus, a law that for the first time condemned the habitual abuses of despotic rulers, abuses that were perpetrated since the ancient times, to lock people in prison - perhaps for life - without it would demonstrated their crime through a fair trial in which the defendant could defend itself and would be also defended.

This law is included in the Constitution of the United States and makes Guantanamo

a fact not only unjust, but illegal.

 

On 21 January 2009 the President signed an order of closing yes, but it has never been

implemented.

What do you expect more? Is talk of huge expenses, but justice is priceless.

Che cosa ancora si attende per chiudere Guantanamo?

 

Che cosa si attende? Il Pres. Obama l’aveva promesso già quando fu eletto la prima volta.

Questa promessa sta ancora inadempiuta davanti al popolo americano come davanti al mondo intero.

 

Si tratta di un atto di giustizia.

Perché Guantanamo è un carcere ingiusto, in cui si viene rinchiusi senza giudizio alcuno.

Un carcere che è contro la dignità e il diritto della persona, contro i suoi supremi diritti

sanciti già nel 1679 in Inghilterra dall’Habeas corpus, una legge che per la prima volta condanna l’abuso abituale dei sovrani dispotici, abuso che si perpetrava dall’antichità, di rinchiudere persone in carcere – magari per tutta la vita – senza che fosse dimostrato il loro crimine attraverso un giusto giudizio in cui l’imputato potesse difendersi e fosse anche difeso.

 

Legge che è inclusa nella Costituzione degli Stati Uniti e che fa di Guantanamo un fatto

non solo ingiusto ma illegale.

Il 21 gennaio 2009 il Presidente ha sì firmato un’ordinanza di chiusura, che però

non è mai stata attuata.

Che cosa si attende ancora? Si parla di spese ingenti; ma la giustizia non ha prezzo.
