On Sunday 09/06/2002 few thousands of RCD-Goma soldiers arrived at
Bunyatenge (North Kivu, RDC) where there were some 300 families of
Rwandan Hutu refugees (some of whom spoke with the MONUC officers,
last week in Butembo, to present their situation). The RCD-Goma men
spoke to the local Congolese people just like the Rwandan-Ugandan
troops did in 1996. They assured the civilians won't be hurt and as
they are looking for Interahamwes and added that they will give a new
order.
As by local extremely reliable sources, if the RCD-Goma troops decide
to reach Beni-Butembo, they will do it very quickly also because
there are more of them ready to cross the Lake Virunga.
