White Phosphorous, Daisy cutters, Depleted Uranium, Thermobaric bombs,
Clusterbombs, Napalm...The US uses WMD against civilians.
Dirk Adriaensens, coordinator SOS Iraq, Executive committee BRussells Tri
...The war on Iraq is an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe (...)
Despite the global protests, war was unleashed on Iraq. The Belgian NGOs
Medical Aid for the Third World (MATW) <http://www.m3m.be >www.m3m.be in
cooperation with S.O.S. Iraq ( www.irak.be ) had a Medical Team of two !
doctors in Baghdad, Dr. Geert Van Moorter and Dr. Colette Moulaert. They
remained in Iraq during the bombings and the invasion to witness the
American and British aggression. They coordinated with the Ministry of
Health, the Iraqi Red Crescent and international institutions including the
World Health Organization and Unicef. Their report from April 3 2003, that
I copied underneath, described the use of some terrible weapons used by the
US forces. I sent this report at the time to Dai Williams, weapons expert,
to analyze the descriptions given by Dr. Geert Van Moorter. Dai Williams'
answer, also copied underneath, includes a report from BBC reporter Adam
Mynot (5 April 2003), who described civilian casualties with severe burns
near Nasiriyah. "The Phosphorus turned the inside of his house white hot".
Even Dai Williams couldn't believe then that White Phosphorus was used
against civilians. But now we know the US aggressors DID use it...

Radioactive Tank No. 9 Comes Limping Home
Bob Nichols
Across the plains of Kansas, destroyed, radioactive Abrams tanks, perched
on railroad flatcars, rolled towards an uncertain future. Only one thing
was certain. They would be radioactive forever. This would be their
everlasting death mask. The Pentagon deceptively calls it "depleted
uranium." The Abrams tanks are constructed with a layer of radioactive
uranium metal plates. The big tanks fire a giant uranium dart at 2,100 mph,
much faster than an F-16 fighter a! ircraft, mach III to airplane pilots
and very, very fast to the rest of us. American taxpayers paid to ship the
tanks to Iraq and to return them for disposal or re-building in the United
States. The tanks are 12 feet wide and weigh a stout 70 tons, or 140,000
pounds. The enduring vigorous stupidity of the U.S. military pretends that
radiation is one of those things that if you can't see it, it can't hurt
you. They are thoroughly delusional, of course...

Tomdispatch Interview: Ann Wright on Service to Country
Tom Engelhardt
...We are the cause of the violence in Iraq. That violence will continue as
long as we're there, and the administration maintains that we will be there
until we win. That means to me that this administration is planning for a
long-term siege in Iraq. It means that young men and women in America
should be prepared for the draft because the military right now cannot
support what this administration wants...

The Iraq Deception
Chris Coverdale
When the Prime Minister and the Attorney General announced that the war
with Iraq would be legal, they betrayed the trust of the British people.
Waging a war of aggression is not only illegal in international law but it
is the most serious criminal offence known to mankind. By providing false
and misleading legal advice to Parliament, the armed forces and the
Government, Lord Goldsmith enabled Tony Blair to lead Britain into a
Coalition with America to wage an illegal war agains! t Iraq. As a direct
result of the armed invasion and occupation, at least 100,000 men, women
and children have been killed and many more have been injured...

Fallujah, Lies, and Banned Weapons
Uncommon Thought Journal
...I am a citizen of the United States. The government acts in my name, if
not with my permission. The blood and lies stain me, and every citizen of
the United States. Today, the atrocities and the lies continue - in our
names. How long can this be allowed to continue? Will it continue until the
United States gets the Iraq it wants with Chalabi at the helm and permanent
U.S. bases to launch on the Middle East and Southern Asia? Will it continue
for the l! aunching of yet another regime change, followed by another,
followed by another until all the land lies in ruin and chaos? How many
lies and how many dead? Even as I write this Bush denies torture is a
policy while Cheney pressures Congress to allow secret facilities that
utilize torture to be written into law...

habeas corpus ad subjiciendum: not anymore!
RevolutionaryFlowerpotSociety
In light of the ratification of the Graham Amendment, which would overturn
last year's Supreme Court ruling which allowed Guantanemo prisoners the
right to question the legality of their detentions before a court, we can
now state legally-truthfully (not merely warning, nor talking in propaganda
so as to get you to move): U.S.-Made Civil Liberties Are Nearly DEAD! (And
the qualifier, 'nearly', holds only till the House too converts the idea!
into reality.) (...) The real target of the passage of the above-mentioned
law in the US Senate, may have less to do with fighting the fictional 'war
on terror', and may have more to do with preparing to fight in full force
the ordinary citizens and the working classes of the United States. It
appears that a civil war is what the rulers are preparing for and not a
'war on terror'...

The world's silence over Israel's Abu Ghraibs
Aljazeera.com
Since the Palestinian Intifada or Uprising broke out nearly five years ago,
35,000 Palestinians, including 3,000 children, have been detained by the
Israelis, according to MIFTAH, a Palestinian peace and justice group. The
Palestinians have repeatedly called on the International Red Cross Society
(IRCS) the world human rights organisations to pressure the Israeli
government to protect the prisoners in Israeli jails, most, if not all of
them held without ! charges, quite often for long periods. Every family in
Palestine has had one of its members detained by the Israeli authorities at
one point or another...

Is America above the Geneva Conventions?
Michael Ratner and Sara Miles
... Human rights activists around the world who live under repressive
regimes have long looked to this country for leadership; our government,
flawed as it is, has launched crusades against human rights abusers abroad
and helped prevent terrible suffering by demanding that torture stop. Now
we are facing a new world: one in which the most powerful country on the
planet publicly declares itself above the laws that have protected
individuals eve! rywhere from disappearance, torture and murder. It is a
sad and dark moment, in which the hostis humani generis, the enemy of all
humankind, speaks with the voice of the United States government...

TIME Sunday: Inquiries into CIA killing of detainee suggest coverup
RAW STORY
Hundreds of pages of documents, obtained by TIME, shed new light on how a
CIA prisoner died at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Military police at Iraq's
notorious Abu Ghraib prison dubbed him the Iceman; others used the nickname
Mr. Frosty, TIME's Adam Zagorin reports. The prisoner is listed as Manadel
al-Jamadi in three official investigations of his death while in U.S.
custody, a death that was ruled a homicide in a Defense Department auto!
psy. Photographs of his battered corpse-iced to keep it from decomposing in
order to hide the true circumstances of his dying - were among the many
made public in the spring of 2004, raising stark questions about America's
treatment of enemy detainees, TIME reports...

Grand Daddy Neocon Shoots Messenger
Kurt Nimmo, Another Day in the Empire
Norman Podhoretz, the grand daddy of the Straussian neocons, expends a few
thousand words in an attempt to convince us George Bush didn't lie when he
told us Saddam had a WMD program and was in cahoots with Osama bin Laden.
"Among the many distortions, misrepresentations, and outright
falsifications that have emerged from the debate over Iraq, one in
particular stands out above all others. This is the charge that George W.
Bush misled us in! to an immoral and/or unnecessary war in Iraq by telling
a series of lies that have now been definitively exposed," writes Podhoretz
in the December issue of Commentary (posted in advance on the Commentary
website). "To lie means to say something one knows to be false," Podhoretz
asserts. "But it is as close to certainty as we can get that Bush believed
in the truth of what he was saying about WMD in Iraq"...

Falluja, One Year Later
Doug Pritchard, Electronic Iraq
Christian Peacemaker Teams visited the city of Falluja again on Nov. 8th.
This day marked the first anniversary of a major U.S. assault on the city.
In that attack, the largely Sunni population of 300,000 was expelled, its
industrial base and services destroyed, and one-third of its homes were
flattened. What has happened since? The city is now surrounded by a tight
network of checkpoints controlled by U.S. forces and Shi'a members of the
Iraqi Army. No one ! is allowed in without an identification card issued by
the U.S. Marines, or other permission. Even with such permission it took 75
minutes for us to enter. These checkpoints are choking economic life in the
city, doubling prices for basic foodstuffs, and cutting off surrounding
villages from Falluja's markets, services, and hospital. The people say
that they are living in a prison...

The Incubator Lie
WhatReallyHappened.com
With the video from Jordan showing a woman making shocking accusations, it
is worth recalling the last time when a woman was shown on TV making
shocking accusations. The day after Iraq invaded Kuwait, the Kuwaitis
living in the US hired the public relations firm Hill and Knowlton - a job
worth $1 million a month. This was the biggest ever contract in the history
of public relations to improve the image of their corrupt, oil-rich regime.
The story of how Iraqi troops, in th! e first days of the invasion, went
into Al-Adan hospital, tore the sick babies from incubators and left them
on the cold floor to die was graphically told to Congress on November 1990
before the crucial vote to send US troops (passed by about 5 votes). What
the audience didn't know however was that the 15-year old girl who made the
moving, tearful testimony was none other than Niyirah al-Sabah - daughter
of the US Ambassador to Kuwait...

Russian experts see Israeli, US links in Jordan blasts, Lebanon murder
Globalresearch.ca
Speakers in a Russian radio discussion have discerned an "Israeli
connection" in the recent Amman bomb attacks and accused the USA of being
behind the murder of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq al-Hariri. Member
of the State Duma International Affairs Committee Shamil Sultanov said the
bombs furthered the chances of Muhammad Dahlan to replace Mahmud Abbas as
leader of the Palestinian National Authority. Middle East expert! Vladimir
Akhmedov said the Americans had targeted al-Hariri to get at Syrian
President Bashar al-Asad and French President Jacques Chirac. The following
is an excerpt from the programme in the "Panorama" series broadcast by
Russian Mayak radio on 11 November...

Blair Faces New Inquiry into Iraq War
Impeachment Campaigners Claim Former Ministers will Join 200 Supporters to
Force Commons Probe
James Cusick
MPs organising the campaign to impeach Tony Blair believe they have enough
support to force a highly damaging Commons investigation into the Prime
Minister's pre-war conduct. A renewed attempt to impeach Blair over claims
he misled parlia ment in making his case for war against Iraq, will be made
in the Commons within the next two weeks. The impeachme! nt process
effectively stalled last year when just 23 MPs signed a Commons motion. But
the scale of the government's defeat on its anti-terror legislation last
week - where 49 Labour MPs rebelled - has galvanised the momentum for
proceedings to be invoked...

Meshuggah over Iraq and Israel stories
Truth About Iraqis

blogs.
2. Several hours later, same writer, same url, but the story recants the
earlier version and alludes to "contrary to earlier reports". Who reported
this and who later denied the initial report is not mentioned. 3. LA Times
decides to dig further and calls a former senior intelligence official who
says he heard from sources in Israel about the pre-bombing evacuations.
Repeat: Sources in Israel. Not on this blog, no, Guiora did not call me and
ask me for advice on what to tell the LA Times. Nevertheless, some have
come here comparing me to Hitler's anti-Jewish phobia while others said I

Jordan: Model for a Balkanized Arab Middle East
Kurt Nimmo, Another Day in the Empire
..."If Iraqis want a king, [Prince] Hassan of Jordan could be their man,"
wrote the neocon Michael Rubin in 2002 (Hassan is the brother of the late
King Hussein of Jordan and a blood relative of the Iraqi Hashemite family)
and David Wurmser "wrote Tyranny's Ally [in 1999], an AEI-published book
devoted largely to the idea of restoring the Hashemite dynasty in Iraq.
Today Rubin is a key Department of Defense official overseeing U! .S.
policy toward Iraq, and Wurmser is a high-ranking official working for
Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security John
Bolton, himself a leading neoconservative ideologue," writes Robert
Dreyfuss for the American Prospect. In fact, the neocons want to eventually
install Hashemite-like princelings all across a war ravaged and splintered
Middle East...
